Thanks, AppyPappy! But, I think we are dealing with one of those "willowy fellas" here.

You must be speaking about yourself since you sure don't know who you're dealing with here.
Unfortunately you seem incapable of directly addressing anything a posters says, but need to resort to these sort of cowardly underhanded insults.
Try addressing the topic being discussed, if you can muster up the courage.

You, Sir, don't know shit! My son has hemophilia, and they don't die of it, asshole! If they don't bleed to death because the people at the ER don't know they have the condition, they die of Hepetitus or AIDS. Why don't you just shut up about what you obviously don't know shit about...DICKHEAD!

Nice to see you can debate in a civilized manner.

There are also those who have lost loved ones to poisons such as AZT.

I bet they can cuss as well.

The only people who deny that HIV causes AIDS are quack witch-doctors and frauds who are considered total kooks by general consensus in the scientific community.

I just returned from a conference full of practicing MD's who support Duesberg's views.

Why don't you read his article and refute his points?

Really?

If there is evidence that HIV causes AIDS, there should be scientific documents which either singly or collectively demonstrate that fact, at least with a high probability. There is no such document." Kary Mullis, Biochemist, 1993 Nobel Prize for Chemistry. Inventor of the Polymerase Chain Reaction

There are, of course, thousands of other legitimate scientists who concur.

Most people are unaware that AIDS is not even a disease but rather a "syndrome." The actual diseases the AIDS ridden die of are the more prosaic pneumonia, cancers etc.

Thanks for the post.

That's right. Everyone knows homosexual sodomy doesn't spread the AIDS virus.

Yes, but the diseases are unique to various groups. African's don't get kaposi's sarcoma neither do hemophilliacs. Hetereosexual Americans *rarely* get AIDS but hetereosexual Africans do all the time. In South Africa there is no correlation between AIDS and other STDs.

How on Earth do you get a pathogen to act like that?

I'm sorry I offended you.

I do think there is something profoundly wrong with the HIV-AIDS hypothesis.

I believe Duesberg and Rasnick have raised some excellent points. I think resolving these issues will save lives.

My take on AIDS is that it is as much a "disease" of the spirit as the body.

In America it is still a disease of the homos and drug injecters. It is very difficult to catch it from sex with a woman, relatively speaking.

The frustration that parents of children with hemophilia deal with daily is the implied connection (erroneous) of hemophilia with HIV. In the 70s, when blood transfusions was the main treatment for deficient factor, tainted blood caused many children with hemophilia become infected.

Today's factor products use virtually no human blood products and those used are heat treated to kill the virus, but the implication remains.

I believe someone on the original thread talked about the donation of tainted blood by drug addicts and homosexuals. As you noticed, we parents tend to be very protective of our children and their health. Thank you for the appology. I accept and appologize for my cussing.

My take on AIDS is that it is as much a "disease" of the spirit as the body.

I'm leaning towards a "lifestyle" disease. The homosexuals in San Fran who engaged in passive anal sex with dozens of partners are likely to have picked up half the damn pathogens on the planet.

Similarly, what does a decade of IV drug use and needle sharing do to the immune system? If long term drug abuse results in immune system failure, you would expect to see this a decade or two after the 60's and 70's.

Perhaps HIV is the culprit. But no one has ever explained how it works and the original science was done in an extremely shabby manner by someone known for their dishonesty.

"The only people who deny that HIV causes AIDS are quack witch-doctors and frauds who are considered total kooks by general consensus in the scientific community."

Really?

Yes, REALLY.

There has not been a single World AIDS conference where ANYONE PRESENT or challenges the idea that HIV causes AIDS.
The worlds foremost experts on this disease won't even give the time of day to the bozos you quote.

A gathering of quacks and witch doctors.

Not one reputable authority on AIDS, or respected figure in the medical community supports the nonsense Duesberg espouses.

Mainstream AIDS experts all agree HIV causes AIDS.

A gathering of quacks and witch doctors.

I sat next to Scott Carpenter. Edward Teller used to attend the DDP conferences quite frequently as well. Duesberg is, of course, one of the pioneers in the field of retrovirology.

Mainstream AIDS experts all agree HIV causes AIDS.

Mob opinion is no replacement for serious research. A media blitz is no substitute for peer review. Bob Gallo is a documented thief and liar.

The worlds foremost experts on this disease won't even give the time of day to the bozos you quote.

Well, thats a lie. Mullis asked Dr. Montagnier about the original paper which showed HIV caused AIDS at the at the grand opening of the U.C.S.D. AIDS Research Center.

In response Dr. Montagnier suggested, "Why don't you reference the C.D.C. report?"

"I read it," I said. "That doesn't really address the issue of whether or not H.I.V. is the probable cause of AIDS, does it?"

He agreed with me. It was damned irritating. If Montagnier didn't know the answer, who the hell did?

Not one reputable authority on AIDS, or respected figure in the medical community supports the nonsense Duesberg espouses.

The Group for the Scientific Reappraisal of the HIV-AIDS Hypothesis came into existence as a group of signatories of an open letter to the scientific community. The letter (dated June 6, 1991) has been submitted to the editors of Nature, Science, The Lancet and The New England Journal of Medicine. All have refused to publish it. In 1995 The Group was able to get a letter published in Science.

To the editor:

It is widely believed by the general public that a retrovirus called HIV causes the group diseases called AIDS. Many biochemical scientists now question this hypothesis. We propose that a thorough reappraisal of the existing evidence for and against this hypothesis be conducted by a suitable independent group. We further propose that critical epidemiological studies be devised and undertaken.

Geez..I wonder why?

In any case, that is quite a list of names you have there.

Perhaps one day they will be taken seriously.
But I doubt it very much.

Taken seriously by whom? CNN? The mob?

The SMON virus was taken seriously by MDs but nevertheless was a simple case of iatrocide. There was no virus.

Science is not a popularity contest.
