Just a heads-up. A profile from this guy's web page http://www.siue.edu/PHILOSOPHY/faculty-em.htm reads:

Ronald J. Glossop (Ph.D. Washington University in St. Louis, 1960), Emeritus. Has authored Philosophy: An Introduction to Its Problems and Vocabulary (Dell, 1974); Confronting War: An Examination of Humanity's Most Pressing Problem (McFarland, 1983; 2nd ed., 1987; 3rd ed., 1994); and World Federation? A Critical Analysis of Federal World Government (McFarland, 1993). Glossop has also published more than 30 articles in professional journals and scholarly publications, and he has presented numerous papers at professional meetings for philosophers and educators. He has also given many presentations concerning contemporary global issues to various conferences on world problems and global education in the U.S., Russia, Hungary, Austria, and South Korea--usually in English but sometimes in Esperanto. Current research interests include world citizenship in the evolving global community, global political philosophy (world federation and/or global governance) and the value of teaching to children in 4th-7th grades. (My bold.) His teaching interests include problems of war and peace, global problems and human survival, and Esperanto, as well as more traditional philosophy courses on social and political philosophy, pragmatism, ethics, critical thinking, and introduction to philosophy. Glossop also serves as First Vice-President of the national World Federalist Association as well as Chairman of the Greater St. Louis chapter of World Federalists. He is Commissioner for American Affairs and the Teaching of Esperanto to Children for the Internacia Ligo de Esperantistaj Instruistoj. He is an active member of the Campaign for U.N. Reform, the United Nations Association of the United States, Concerned Philosophers for Peace, International Philosophers for the Prevention of Nuclear Omnicide, the American Association of Instructors of Esperanto, and the Esperanto League for North America. He is also a member of the Hume Society, the American Philosophical Association-Central Division, the World Policy Institute, the AAUP, and the Consortium on Peace Research, Education, and Development (COPRED). Professor Glossop retired from full-time teaching in December 1998.

I have been to a couple of these forums that "Peace Studies" sponsers - at this moment, I'd rather do anything else than sit and listen to this windbag.....

I really hate being a captive audience to those types of e-mails from the University. It interfers with my day to get all disgusted with the peaceniks when I'm trying to do my work. Geesh! The rest of the e-mail topics were a bunch of PC stuff, too. Wonder if they'll remove me from their "ping" list?

The guy speaks "Esperanto" for heaven's sake. A language manufactured by liberal internationalists for the purpose of providing a "neutral" tool for universal communication devoid of cultural or imperialistic bias. Missed the boat on that one didn't he! English is the world's language of choice for science, industry and commerce. Why? Because of America!

What a maroon!

Maybe we should go to the forum and let them know how we feel? Geez, they always show up to protest when they don't like the topic or the speaker.
