Oh please. What are the Israelis going to do? Surround his compound again? OOOOOOOOOOOO. Well geez that'll help. (sarcasm off) Face it. Bush can't allow his middle east "peace plan" to fall apart. Looks bad in the evening news. Arafat needn't worry though if this were a just world, he'd be long dead.

They already promised us that they wouldn't do anything to Arafat, so the most they would probably do is surround his compound again.

It's nighttime. Here's wishing the Israelis a successful hunt.

Surround his compound again? OOOOOOOOOOOO.LOL, but unfunny for the truth of it. Maybe, and I do keep hopin, one day old Yassir will actually pay for his crimes. Maybe tonight. The IDF could - oops! - level his compound while trying to shoot at a car driving past it. Why not, they get blamed for missed targets often enough.

I think it is time for Arafat to go. What could Bush say to Sharon? "Hey you killed the orchestrator of hundreds of terrorist acts. We do not like those kinds of tactics."
Kill this piece of sh*t and lets just get it on, lets have victory.

So why couldn't he go to Egypt? Jordan?

When you smack a noisome hyena on the backside, he comes back again. If you chop off his head, he doesn't.

Combine this with yonif's other post about heightened security and there may be more than just a compound watch going on. israel knows that if they take Arafat out they will have pandemonium (especially on the heels of eliminating so man Hamas leaders lately).
So increased security really could mean that they plan to do something serious with Arafat tonight.
We can only hope. I would expect they would pack him up and send him into exile before they kill him. But who knows?
Regardless of what they do, peace will not reign until the Messiah returns.

Arafat is the palestinian Saddam Hussein. Except the Israelis know exactly where Yassir is.

i would put money on him being killed rather than going into exile. and when it does happen it will be a suprise
to all of us.

I see it the same way. The Israelis have always had a knack for doing whats right and surprising everyone. Whats the worst that could happen? Terrorists in Jeruselem? They have a lot more common sense than us and it makes sense to take him out.

Arafat in exile is the same as now only Israel couldn't stop him from talking (or breathing). Why lose control? Even if they don't want to bomb his compound into a crater, its better to isolate him by cutting off all entry & exit and cutting off all telecommunications from him and anyone inside the building. Make it a prison. But it is only worth doing this if there is a strong and clear commitment from all Israeli parties that the isolation is permanent.
