I think duct tape might make a tasteful frame for Scott's sampler!

By JOHN COTÉ

A woman who was hypnotized during the police investigation of the disappearance of Laci Peterson last year has raised new questions about the handling of the case, according to a report obtained Thursday.
The woman, Diane Jackson, is now a potential witness for the defense. She is one of two people known to have been hypnotized in the investigation.
In a statement to investigators, she provided new information that is at odds with a police version of a neighborhood burglary about the time Laci Peterson, nearly eight months pregnant, disappeared in late December.
Jackson said Thursday she could not comment publicly because members of Scott Peterson's defense team have informed her she will be subpoenaed as a witness, bringing her under a sweeping gag order imposed in the double-murder case.
According to the report, Jackson told police she was driving to her home in the La Loma neighborhood at 11:40 a.m. Dec. 24 when she saw three men standing near a tan van parked in front of 516 Covena Ave., directly across the street from the Peterson home. One rear van door was open, the other ajar, she said......snipped

I don't think that is very devestating to the Prosecution. THAT stupid van was forensically tested and there was NOTHING in it of Laci. No blood, no hair, no nothing. And remember Geragos bought the thing and had HIS experts test it. We have heard absolutely NOTHING about it ever since. And he bought it and had it tested waaay before the gag order if I remember right. I'm just not worried about Geragos's rebuttal info. I think the Prosecution just has too much to rebutt effectively. He'll nip around the edges but that's about all.

However, I doubt that Laci would have allowed Scott to indulge his taste for duct-tape frames while living at their Covena house...

WELL, if having been "hypnotized" makes Kristen Dempewolf's testimony "suspect", then it seems to me that it would also make Diane Jackson's testimony "suspect"!
What's good for the goose is good for the Geragos!

I'm here.
Let's recap. Two important (but not fully confirmed) developments: ALLEGEDLY, when asked by Amber if he had anything to do with Laci's disappearance, Scott's initial answer was YES, followed by obfuscation. And the police ALLEGEDLY have SOMEONE'S fingerprints from duct tape on that 20+ foot long black tarp (or weed-blocker) that washed up right by Laci's body.
Things are looking up for the prosecution, IMO.

It's Mark Geragos' fault! That scum continued the preliminary, and now everyone's in a holding pattern!
Why aren't the cable channels covering this stuff about the fingerprints and the admission ("Yes") more? I saw Rita Cosby talking about it for about two minutes! Have I missed the rest of the shows?
To: Devil_Anse
Perhaps we'll get more coverage of the fingerprints this week. Geraldo talked about it Sat. night and I heard Larry Kobilinsky Sunday afternoon on Fox. When it has been brought up as a possibility it usually stops the defense lawyers on the panels in their tracks. They can't really come up with an explanation. All Mickey Sherman could do was say that he doubted that fingerprints could survive in the water that long. This tells me that such evidence, if it exists, is going to be really bad news for Scott. Do you think there is a possibility of a plea to LWOP? I think that the Rocha's may go for that to avoid a lengthy painful trail. Geragos may see it as a success because he kept him from getting the DP. As for Scott, Mom & Dad...?

When it has been brought up as a possibility, it usually stops the defense lawyers on the panels in their tracks. Hee hee hee! "Fingerprints".... zot!
Oh, I did manage to catch Mickey's remarks. With the hyperbole common to those shows, he said "no way" could there be fingerprints, yada yada yada. You're right... I don't think he addressed the possibility that IF there WERE fingerprints of Scott's... wait, I vaguely remember that the reporter cornered him and said, "Mickey, suspend your disbelief, let's just say, WHAT IF." At that point, if my memory serves, he was forced to concede that that would be, um, very bad for Scott's defense. Duh.
I think Scott himself will prevent there being any settlement of this case w/o a trial. I don't think Scott really fathoms that HE MIGHT LOSE. I think he wants to pull out all the stops to correct this "misunderstanding"; IMO, he hasn't given up his fantasy that he will one day soon be back out on the golf course, then over to Amber's for a quickie, then on to his luxurious home, then traveling and enjoying life...

(Wonder if the "Inmate Scott Peterson" watched this round of golf on prisonchannel?)
To: drjulie
I heard Nancy Grace say on LKL that Peterson won't get a second offer from the Prosecution. Especially if they have evidence like that there is NO need. He really does DESERVE the same penalty as his "innocent" victims.
