I agree with your #99. How much worse can it get? IDF are the most fierce soldiers in the world. Israel CAN take care of herself and to hell with world opinion.

You know, the key to this situation is that peace is not a process, peace is the absence of a "process". Peace is only a process when one of the "partners" really does not want peace.

The peace process is a joke. Always has been.

When Clinton gave Arafat 97% of what he wanted in the late 90's and still Arafat walked away, everyone with an ounce of sense knew it was hopeless.

Thus, Israel needs to do what it must to defend itself.

Was reading an article on Middle East Intelligence bulletin..concerning a Terror org leader in Lebanon..who in times past fought with Araft..went to Tunis..returned Lebanon.

Drifting toward Hizbullah and Iran..Arafat had tried to kill him..several 'Turf' wars ensued..in some cases..Syrian Regulars were involved.

Arafat has suprising reach from his ruins in Ramallah.

There are so many camps within the terror thingy.

Al Qaeda fled to South Lebanon after fleeing Afghanistan...it seems logical that Arafat has made some intel and resources available to them.

Thanks for your reports. I hope you're safe if the $h!t really hits the fan over there. As a good Jewish friend of mine (and former IDF guy) always says, "We need a big war to end this once and for all. Yeah, both sides will have heavy casualties, but at least they will come all at once."

Too many people are desensitized, not only from the murders, but they don't realize that many of the "injured" listed in these reports are horribly mutilated and crippled for life.

You're right. The maimed are frequently forgotten.

Another update:

"Catastrophic" bombing in Jerusalem cafe: 5 dead, dozens wounded
By israelinsider staff September 10, 2003

A bomb exploded in crowded Cafe Hillel at 11:20 pm in the popular Emek Refaim entertainment district in the southern part of the city. There are at least 30 casualties, at least six seriously, and at least 5 dead. The death toll is expected to rise.

Ambulances are evacuating the wounded. A suicide bomber is believed to have overcome a security guard and exploded as he entered the cafe, which is completely destroyed.

According to Jerusalem police chief Miki Levy, one of the security guards perceived the bomber and tried unsuccessfully to push him out.

Commentators compared the bombing to the attack two years ago on the popular Moment Cafe in Jerusalem, in which more than 20 people were killed.

That's true.. It's so idiotic to even consider peace a possibility at this point. If there weren't attacks from the islamics on the world, there would be much more peace without any process.

Frankly, it's the islamics that gotta go. We can do it now with minimal losses on our side, or later when we'll be hugely wiped out too.

"It's time for the Israelis to issue a decree that the next bombing is going to result in Arafat getting a bullet to the brain"

That's one of the best ideas I've heard.

It needs to be a formal statement at the UN.

I don't think it would make any difference at all if they took out Arafat. This war is not with Arafat but with Arabs. If they took out fatty, another snake would be raised in his place. Heck the guy is so sick now they have to prop him up to speak.

This war is with Saudi Arabia, Iran, Jordan, Lybia, Yemmen, Egypt and once with Iraq. Has been for 50 years. They cannot win attacking the army so they kill coffee drinkers with suicide. Too scared to throw a grenade, they might get caught afterwords. Much better to kill yourself and not have to face the dreaded angry Jew.

They are cowards, nothing more.

I think you nailed it, but then the only defense for Israel is the wall. Build it now, build it strong, and stay alert.

The race is whether the Arabs (+persions, etc.) join civilization before going nuclear. Deterrence ala MAD won't work with Arab fanatics.

You bet, I found a very cool Cafe that serves german beer. You got to try it if you come visit. Real small, off the road a bit, decent guard and buzzer gate with a walled entry. Not a target. Nice place to relax.

Mounir al-Maqdah former Fatah commander

In the late 1990s, Maqdah allowed al-Qaeda to begin funding a network of obscure Sunni Islamist groups, most notably Esbat al-Ansar. Maqdah not only allowed Islamist cells to operate freely in the camp, but actively assisted them. In March 2000, he was indicted by Jordan's State Security Court on charges of providing arms and explosives to members of an al-Qaeda cell who planned to carry out terrorist attacks in the Kingdom at the turn of the millennium. Maqdah denied the charges, but said in an interview that he would be "honored to coordinate" with Osama bin Laden if the al-Qaeda leader ever attempted "to liberate the holy city of Jerusalem."[8] In September, he was convicted in absentia and sentenced to death. Since then, persistent Jordanian requests for his extradition have been rejected by Damascus.

Maqdah's supporters in the West Bank rejected the recent Israeli-Palestinian cease-fire and have claimed responsibility for several shootings since it came into effect. On June 30, a Bulgarian construction worker (apparently mistaken for an Israeli) was killed in the West Bank. "No one consulted us about this truce," said Maqdah in a recent interview. "We have said very clearly that we will never put down our arms while there is occupation and if one Palestinian prisoner remains in an Israeli jail."[17]

**After the outbreak of intense clashes between Fatah forces and al-Qaeda-backed militants in Ain al-Hilweh in May, Arafat reportedly ordered Fatah commanders in the camp to wipe out the Islamists.** Maqdah refused to sanction the campaign, however, and it was soon abandoned. This appears to have been the final straw. On June 25, Arafat formally removed Maqdah from his post, ordered him to hand over several strategic checkpoints to Arafat loyalists, and transferred around 150 men under his command to other units. Since then, Maqdah has declined to comment on whether he is still in control of Fatah forces in the camp, while Arafat appears content not to press the issue. For the time being, though, Maqdah's war against Israel continues.
