The US had an unusualy cold summer this year. That was a result of global warming you know. Global warming has contributed to excess evaporation of oceanic surface water, which causes more clouds, which reflect more light and shade the surface, and therefore results in a cooler summer. See! It's global warming's fault. It always is. No matter what the observation is.
