WASHINGTON -- They worked for hours, calculating and figuring. And after weeks, they had a number: $400 million.

That was how much Detroit officials determined gun violence had cost the city over 10 years to send out the police, treat the uninsured, bury the dead and clean the blood from the streets.

Such a law could affect pending lawsuits.

GOOD! It should. If a product works correctly there should be no lawsuits. Now, if the gun misfires, fails to fire, or "blows up" in your face, THEN you can sue. And, WILL be able to sue.

My study of liberals and their legislation--- $6 gazillion dollars in damages to the American people.

And he could buy a gun on almost any corner en route, he said.

If that's true, then he admits that he personally knows of illegal gun dealers all over the place that he is not prosecuting under existing laws.

And all their calculations did not contain one bit of consideration for all the lives that have been saved with guns, and the crimes prevented. This one fact totally demolishes their entire argument.

Manufacturers, the cities said, supply more guns in some areas than could lawfully be used, pass them on to distributors and dealers and "basically shut their eyes after that,"

How is it possible to supply more guns in some areas than can lawfully be used, when one collector can lawfully use hundreds by himself, any person reading a gun magazine can come up with dozens of uses for dozens of guns. I am constantly amazed that such imbecilic arguments are so carelessly passed on. It is as if they said that that artists produced for more art than could be lawfully used...

But they already received the $400 mil in tax revenues or they wouldn't have had it to spend. So if anyone is out the $400M, its the taxpayers, not the local government. So I'm sure we can assume that if they win, there will be a corresponding $400M tax cut?? No? Didn't think so.

...sounds like some inept police, and the police cheif, should be fired since they are allowing this. I would sue the police for letting this happen.
