You guys are making good points, but I remember the same gloomy talk about a one-party system and the Republicans as a "Presidential party" back then. Things can change in a hurry, have to be on our guard.

"When broadcast blowhards such as Rush Limbaugh ..assail the Democratic Party, most of us ignore them." With that statement, Bill Shipp reveals himself to be an illogical feminized male whose emotional immaturity doesn't allow him to accept the truth if it comes from a messenger that he doesn't *relate* to.

But he gave it the wrong title; "THEY JUST DON'T GET IT" would be the perfect title. What do the FREEPERS think?

The "frat boy" reference was amusing, and entirely accurate:

The kind of Democrat Zel Miller is has fallen into history. My father, a leader in Dem politics for a few California counties for many years, was that same kind...very honorable, true to principles. He ended up occasionally organizing campaigns for Republicans in his last years of life, some of the Dems in his area were actually communists. Moderate, ethical values he looked for always. We just don't see that much any more. Evan Bayh comes close.

I wonder how the liberal media will handle this book when it is published in November. Don't look for Katie Couric to give Miller the goo-goo eyes she gave to Jumpin' Jim Jeffords. The media will ignore this. Zell Miller won't be on the Today Show, precisely because Katie won't want to promote his book. That is, unless, the dims have come up with some dirt or an attack line they focus group test that they think will cut him down. It's too late for the Ft. Marcy Park treatment.

Bet you he doesn't even get coverage. They want to muzzle and shut that kind of talk up. Zell Miller is about the only Demonratic with a conscience and putting country above party. He is and has been in the wrong party, but never brings himself to leave the Demonrat label. I will buy that book.
To: Lost Highway
What's he think all non Republicans will do suddenly vote Republican? No but I think the Demmycrats will split into two or more parties. Plus the Greens will gain a lot of votes leaving the Republicans as the only solid party.
