Very good points!! Besides, VISITING LEGAL foriegners can use thier own countries licenses to drive here LEGALLY while they visit. So people working here on temporary visa's shouldn't have a problem DRIVING here.

Your points about INSURANCE are well put.

WHO is going to pay MY COSTS, MY DEDUCTIBLE when I GET hit by those people who Grey Davis just licensed?

Now it PAYS to do things ILL-legal in California. How do we explain this to our kids.

Talk about mixed messages!!!

Not to mention, legal nonresident aliens can already legally get CA drivers licenses with no SSN, although they need a letter from the SSN office stating that they were rejected but are here legally; they must show their valid visa and passport to prove they are legally here. Resident aliens (aka greencard holders) can get SSN's and can work here, so they can get a drivers license as easily as a citizen.

SB 60 benefits illegal aliens only.
