"Your son should be ashamed of your behaviour."

You should be ashamed of your behavior, I am embarrased to read your post.

You're posting to the American mother of an American soldier standing in harm's way, doing what soldiers have always done...following orders.

What do you expect this mother to do? Shame her son by standing on a street corner demanding that our troops home home?

Debate the politics of her son's mission?

The mere fact that you would even expect a mother of a soldier to discuss the politics of his mission is shameful, and you embarras whatever branch of service you "served" in.

Mother are about hope, and pride, and support...and this mother BELIEVES BECAUSE HER SON BELIEVES!

She's not some bitter, Scrooge McDuck worrying about his pocket, she's THE AMERICAN MOTHER OF AN AMERICAN SOLDIER AT WAR!

And if you were any sort of a man or woman of substance, you would be praying with her, for our troops...for the accomplishment of their mission, and their safe return home...and yes, you will pay for that plane ride as well.

"Your son btw was told he was going to Iraq because Osama the fundamentalist a-hole was best friends with the butcher of Baghdad who was about as Islamic as Bill Clinton is christian."

The only thing you may have served under Bush and Reagan was lunch, her son was told he was going there because those were his orders.

And THAT'S what soldiers do...follow orders.

I guess you would feel a lot better if this war against Islamic terrorist was fought in our towns and in our cities.

It would be a lot cheaper...would it not?

It was stupid of me to come on a thread filled with Bush haters and say anything about my son and his mission in Iraq. It was stupid of me to express my emotions among critics of a President I greatly admire, in SPITE of his flaws and the policy differences I have with him.

I disagree OhioWfan .. it's wasn't stupid. You have ever right to voice your opinion and support a man who has shown us all that he is a good man and a great leader for our country. You also have every right to be proud of the honorable service that Eric is doing for our country. We have the BEST military in the world!

The money the President asked for is not going to build another bridge or building after Bobby Bryd.

This money is for the military and it is for getting Iraq and Afgan back on their feet so that the terrorist won't come back and take it over again.

I readily admit, I don't like paying taxes .. But when it comes to our country's national defense and security .. I will gladly pay up .. it's the least I can do, while our troops are over there protecting freedom so that I can live the life I do and live in a country as great as ours.

As for the Bush haters?? ... all I have to say is .. The Clinton's thank them, because they are doing exactly what the Clintons are hoping for. That's how we got Bill in 1992

$87 billion is over $300 for every man woman and child in the country. I wonder when parents should break the news to their young children that they are going to work an extra few years to pay for this.

Hmmm .. let's see .. work a few more years or be killed by terrorists

Hmmmmm ... which one should I pick??

And they say shivalry is dead. Wow Luis. Ya put me in my place. If ya go back, I have never ever said one word ever to OhioWFan until she started accusing posters of wishing ill of her son personally.

I thought that she finally went over the line. You think I went over the line. Fine, we have a disagreement on facts.

Again, you are being a hypocrite as well Luis. I have friends in Iraq. This is still america though, it ain't Cuba. I can believe what I want.

I am not going to be super sensitive to OhioWMom any more. I thought she went over the line before invoking her son in any debate of the wisdom of the Iraq policy. If you think it's ok to accuse people of wanting bad things to happen to their kids, that is fine. You can also be the white knight to rescue somebody who doesn't need rescuing.

I am sure you would have been just as gracious with a mother who had a son in Haiti. What unbelievable hypocrisy.

I served my country, my father served his country, his father before him served his country. I don't expect any special treatment for it. I do expect though, to have my view count as much as a mother of 1 of 130,000, who screams about her son, any time anybody debates the war.

How about this. I will find a mother of a soldier in Iraq who absolutely agrees with me. I will shut the hell up, you will shut the hell up Luis, and we will let her and OhioWFan go at it.

I can't even believe I am having this conversation. 1 mother of 130,000 needs to be treated like an infant you seem to believe. Grow up.

This is absurdist logic and it emotionalizes the debate where logic isn't able to penetrate through. I supported Afghanistan fully. So I guess I was ok then. I supported this war up until the point that I realized I was lied to that we knew exactly where WMD's are and that it would cost us a quarter trillion dollars on a war of convenience.

JimRobinson can shut me up, but you dear Luis better save your breath or keep huffing and puffing til you pass out. I will criticize on WMD's, and Reserve extensions, and no WMD's, and us having to suck up to the UN. I still plan on voting for the President in 2004, considering the alternatives, but I refuse to shut up just to save sensibilities.

If you can't take it, get out of the sandbox. Why don't you go call Chuck Hegel and yell at him for thinking this policy is going bad. I could pretend that Wolfowitz didn't say we would breeze in like liberators, be greeted with flowers and be withdrawn down to 30,000 troops by the fall. That would make me hip with the cool club.

That role is nicely filled by you though. Continue to be a suck up Luis. I am sure you will get invited to the best parties that way.

In conclusion: Don't tread on me.

Better yet...let everyone keep those extra $300 hundred dollars so that they can buy an extra #6 combo (superzised) at Mickey Dee's every week (they're about $6.00/ea here in SoFla) and screw trying to beat the people trying beat us...WE NEED OUR EXTRA MICKEY DEE'S COMBINATION A WEEK MORE THAN WE NEED TO CONDUCT A WAR ON PEOPLE THAT KILL NEW YORKERS AT WORK!

Right dogbyte?

Oh, so you are one of those mentally challenged folks who believe that Saddam was behind 9/11. That explains a lot.

You must also think that since Jesse Jackson is a "christian" and Pat Robertson is a "christian", both from the american south, that they are natural allies.

You are what the screw ups at PNAC are counting on. There are many forms of evil in the world. No, they aren't all bestest buddies either. Osama is a fundamentalist. Hussein is a secularist butcher. Hussein would kill ya, let his kids rape ya, but at the same time put a "christian" Tariq Aziz in his cabinet, let the women go unveiled, sell booze, and let girls wear skirts. Obviously Osama dug him.

Can ya get more blissfully ignorant? Osama Bin Laden called Hussein a "Communist infidel". Yeah, they were tight. I am sure Saddam was cheering 9/11 on, but this was Osama's gig.

You can try to redirect why spending $220 billion on one butcher, who wasn't involved in 9/11 is justified to avenge 9/11 but a rational mind might have problems with that road.

Osama is sitting in his cave in the mountains saying, wow... they are spending $220 billion on Iraq, I am watching it on CNN, it is very painful to me. I have learned my lesson.

Ok sure, ya bet ya. So, we have no WMD's. David Kay met with Rummy this week, and Rummy said Kay has squat contrary to the rumours otherwise that have been spread. No biggie.

You remind me of a democrat who would say that Mengele was a bad German, therefore we need Universal Health Coverage. The logic is about equivalent. So, we pissed off the rest of the world except for England, 3 squads from Poland, a sherpa from Nepal, and a guy named Skip who are all members of the "Coalition of the willing".

Everything is super. Yes, we need to spend $220 billion in Iraq to punish 9/11. Ya got me won over. I propose next that we punish our kid who acted up 10 years ago, because our youngest child burned down the house.

"Oh, so you are one of those mentally challenged folks who believe that Saddam was behind 9/11. That explains a lot."

No...I'm a realist.

I truly could give a rat's ass about Saddam Hussein, but I do appreciate the use of Iraq to stage the war. Let the rest of the terrorist-sponsoring, camel-dictators over there know that the US Army is ready to deply at a moment's notice to knock each and every one of them off if need be.

"a Bin Laden called Hussein a "Communist infidel"."

Ah! The mouthpiece for the left speaks! And in true friggin' apparatchik form!

Why don't you tell us what ELSE Usama said...right after calling Hussein an infidel?

Usama pledged to help the "infidel" against the Americans, didn't he doggy?

But you won't say that because you truly believe yourself smarter than your average bear...not so, you're just a dog lappin' at the left's left-overs platter.

"Yes, we need to spend $220 billion in Iraq to punish 9/11."

Yes we do...we need to stage our troops near the battle.

A military genius you ain't doggy.

I bet you are one of those morons who believe that we should instead use those troops over there to defend our borders from terrorists.

Your idea of fighting the war against terrorists is to try stopping them at our front door.

Mine is to kill them in their own houses...over there.

It's too late if they are at our front door.

"Osama is sitting in his cave in the mountains"

See, even you can see the benefits of staging our troops in the immediate area instead of here.

If the troops were here, Usama would be freely moving about and blowing us up like before.

We have to fight a war. We didn't start this war, but we damned well best finish it.

I say that if we have to use bombs, and tanks, and missiles to destroy any and all terrorists that we do it THERE...not here, and while we're at it, we can destroy a few terrorist sympathetic governments along the way.

How much would you be willing to pay NOT to have a few more 9/11's and dozens of homicide bombers hitting US targets?

To stop all that, we have to do what Israel is doing...killing their leaders, and doing it where they live.

We don't know for a fact either way .. But there is evidence that they were at least talking.

Yes, I have read the stories they didn't like each other, but they both had something in common .. they both hated America and wanted to destroy us

This article should give you a better idea:

"Money has flown into the low grade corporate bond sector lowering the spread between high and low grade debt. This is allowing weak companies to refinance or add more debt which postpones the liquidation of the bubble economy’s malinvestments."

You are a liar and a coward.

I don't expect anyone to 'rescue' me, and I don't expect anyone to treat me with kid gloves.

I just expect people to tell the truth, and you don't. You haven't said ONE thing on this thread about me that was even remotely close to the truth.

You and your little Jr. High buddies at that lockerroom you call Liberty Post have as much courage and character as slugs. I spent two days over there, and it took weeks to get rid of the smell.......

I don't want you to be 'supersensitive'......I want you to stop lying.

I doubt you even know how.

Great post Ohio...Unfortunately, it will probably fall on deaf ears. Many here are as consumed with hatred for President Bush as the democrats.

I cannot believe that people are complaining about an increase in the defense budget. National defense is the primary responsibility of the federal government so there should be no griping when it comes to funding it. Other programs? Sure, but not defense.

Philippians 4:8....... Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are HONEST, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

My reason for ignoring dogbyte, and his maladjusted cronies from now on......

Adding him to my list of the dishonest and unjust, and definitely unlovely freepers to avoid.

I now understand why I got so many private freepmails telling me what a creep he was......

I wonder how it feels for these Bush haters to be sleeping with the RATS??

btw, anyone who makes a moral equivalence between George W. Bush and xlinton (as these guys do) is in mental/emotional/spiritual la la land.......
