MSNBC with Chris Mathews :
David Gergen calls it "a brave speech"...putting the big number out..on what it will cost.
Frank Luntz says this speech will play well with voters because he asks us to be better than ourselves, to stay the course.
Howard Fineman says "we must be strong" "tough political language" the president used tonight...
Nora O'Donnell The president showed strength and steely resolve...but a shift in tone.. this speech was so different from the aircraft carrier speech. Pentagon briefed Capital Hill last week, 1100 wounded and that number is classified, even from republican senators....
O'Donnell says the congress will "swallow the 87 billion". they will get behind it and support it.
Fineman says Dean will challenge the speech, the demo candidates will redouble their assault on President Bush.

No-brain O'Donnell is full of it. President Bush never said anything different than what he did tonight. He has been saying the same thing since Sept.11, 2001.

It'll be interesting how this plays out in the next few days considering this speech reminds Americans that this is a real war, not some fake televised event such as what played out during the Clinton years.
The concept of 9|11 still seems to escape those who did not truly witness the event. It certainly wasn't anything the average Westerner experiences in one's lifetime.
Therefore, one would assume the Democrats are sawing off the branch they are sitting on and this speech served as one, final, painful warning to save themselves.
Then again, people are stupid and selfish. I have little faith in many.

Fineman says Dean will challenge the speech, the demo candidates will redouble their assault on President Bush. They would have assaulted Bush no matter what he said in the speech.
If Bush had agreed with every Dem argument in his speech, they would have reversed their positions in order to attack Bush.
These are the most pathetic bunch of candidates I have ever seen.

Fineman says Dean will challenge the speech, the demo candidates will redouble their assault on President Bush. And as a result, in 2004 they will get the humiliation of a 535-3 electoral vote loss to GWB. (I'm presuming the RATS would win Washington, DC even if they ran David Duke.)

Fineman says Dean will challenge the speech How intuitive as Dean was on both The Today Show and Good Morning America, in their very first segment. Unfortunately Condi was their first guest and couldn't correct Dean's misstatements. Both Gibson and Couric pointedly asked why no mention of WMD's (and we're to believe they're not getting Talking Points) and I sit here praying they all have egg on their faces when the report is released.
