Hmmmmmmm. Let's see. I'm a conservative...and my choices are:
1. Vote for a true conservative, George Nethercutt, so as to a.) remove a despicable liberal, Patty Murray, and b.) increase the Senate majority which best reflects my point of view. Or...
2. Withhold my vote, thereby a.) helping Patty Murray stay in office, so that she can continue to help wreck my country and my state, and b.) risk losing the Senate majority to a bunch of rabid liberal Democrats who will set about destroying everything I believe in.
And your choice is...#2???
To each his own. It's a free country. For now, anyway...

Has the Massachusetts GOP fallen into the bad habit of nominating the likes of William Weld, Arguello Paul Cellucci, Jane Swift and finally Mitt Romney for Governor, winning the races and losing the wars as no Republican wants to bother running for the legislature to help the governor's frinds get jobs and contracts? Your Commonwealth is suffering Republican deficiency anemia as a result of a RINO dominated party.
Can you warn Californians about this phenomenon before it is too late for Republicans there?

George has no backbone, no integrity, and no basic passion. I'm supposed to help him? I'll support anybody but George in the primary. If the moronic party chooses him, they can accept that I won't support their nominee in November. When they care enough to support their own platform, I'll care enough to help them.

disagree, he is unworthy. I helped oust the odious Tom Foley, I worked for George. He swore he'd leave after three terms. He lied. I, too, worked on Nethercutt's campaigns. Prior to that I was deeply involved in, and heavily supported the term limit movement. George said when he ran against Foley that he'd run for office three times and if he won, he'd come home. In the mean time, term limits was declared unconstitutional and if Nethercutt kept his word, he would have put his district at a disadvantage. He agonized over what to do then decided to run anyway against my advice. He didn't lie, he changed his mind.
As it turns out, George is doing exactly what term limits devotees wanted all along...to promote the best a brightest to higher office. If we elect Nethercutt to the senate, WA will get a qualified, hardworking, devoted representative of the people.
That you want now to cut off your nose to spite your face is unfortunate and proves that you are interested not in what's good for our state, but in clinging to an ideology that the political establishment has told us we can not have.
If you continue to view each candidate through the prism of your ideology, you will wander the political wasteland forever. Do what I have done...bless term limits and let them go. Then come back and work for the best candidate for senate...George Nethercutt.

Geo. is a true conservative? HAHAHAHAHAhahahahaha....
He votes for bigger government. He supports the odious practice of using emryos (live human beings) for research. He lied through his teeth to us when he wanted to unseat Tom Foley. Then he broke his pledge to serve three terms because his work "wasn't done". What work? On JUVENILE DIABETIS!!! I assume that he has cured that dread disease, because he is willingly giving up his lifetime tenure in the House to pursue the Senate.
I wonder, how DO you define "conservative"?

And Patty Murray is preferable to a RINO? At least with a RINO you have a chance that the individual will come the their senses and consider your point of view.

"In the mean time, term limits was declared unconstitutional ..."
Keeping your word was never decalred unconstitutional. George should have run against the RealNetworks queen, I'd have worked for him. He is a liar and a lawyer who loves the culture of DC and works for the elite families of the corrupt Spokane power structure, just like Tom Foley did, but much less effectively. If you think George is a good choice, work for him. I will not. I know him, I know how meaningless he is and I'd rather sit out the election than vote for a corrupt liar.

When they care enough to support their own platform, I'll care enough to help them. This was the view of Nader's Greem party in 2000 and it got Bush elected...the exact opposite of what they wanted. Now all they can do is whine about the outcome and are blamed for defeating Gore.
Why not aspire to the advice of that great political song by the Rolling Stones.
You can't always get what you want
But if you try, sometimes you get what you need

"You make it sound like a Conservative Death Wish."
You make it sound as though Conservative ideals are unworthy, and distasteful.
The fact remains that Conservative ideals were the cornerstone of the Republican Party; right up the point in recent years where the word "compromise" became the mantra of a significant number of Republicans.
Conservativism is only a death-wish for those Democraps over on DU.

Politics is partly selling. Sell me on George. Does he vote for smaller government? Does he support LIFE? These are a couple of basics for me. If the answer is NO, then I'll have another glass of wine and spend my time and money on other pursuits. If the GOP loses now and then, they may wake up and care about me. If not, oh well. I won't vote for a babykiller, I won't vote for a politico who breaks a major, core pledge or votes for tax hikes. Period. Ever. So if the question is what will it take to get me back into the GOP, there are the answers.

Ah... so Washington republicans should hold on to the same intramural quibbling that keeps us divided, and keeps the democrats running things?
Yup. It's gotten us Gary Locke, Murray, and Cantwell. Whoohoo! Lets do it somemore!!
It's working well in california too. They're about to elect Gov. Bustamante in a landslide. Great for them...
