April 6, Uday sent for Ala'a Makki, the former director of his television station. He asked Makki what the Iraqi people were thinking. "He was depressed," says Makki. "Since he was disabled in the gun attack on him in 1996 he had become increasingly erratic and inhumane.
"His final words to me were: 'This time I think the Americans are serious. Bush is not like Clinton. I think this is the end'."

I doubt it. I read an interview a while back where she was talking about how odd it was to play a black woman who was this well educated, yet was a Republican.
Whatever the case, I've always liked her back from her days on DS9 to her current stint on 24. And fortunately, I have yet to see her signing any Anti-War petitions or any stupidity like that (Like Rene Auberjonois did, who was also on DS9), so I don't care whether she's FReeper material or not.

Forget to mention that she did Condi great justice in that movie. As did pretty much all the actors. I especially liked that guy who was playing Rumsfeld.

Penny Johnson is the actress who played the President's conniving wife on the series "24" starring Keifer Sutherland, which was on Tuesdays on Fox broadcast channel.
I think I'll add Showtime this month just to see her range as an actress.

...the film's positive portrayal of President Bush...rankled liberal critics, who complain that "DC 9/11" will likely give Bush a political boost heading into an election year.

"Simultaneously dull and disgraceful," fumed the Washington Post's Tom Shales on Saturday, "'DC 9/11' . . . uses the tragic attack on America in 2001 as the basis for a reelection campaign movie on behalf of George W. Bush." Funny, that's my view of Tom Shales, he's so tragically hip he doesn't need to shower, shave or even comb his hair. In short, he's French.

- This country has many challenges. We will not deny, we will not ignore, we will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, to other presidents, and other generations. (Applause.) We will confront them with focus and clarity and courage...
Sending Americans into battle is the most profound decision a President can make. The technologies of war have changed; the risks and suffering of war have not. For the brave Americans who bear the risk, no victory is free from sorrow. This nation fights reluctantly, because we know the cost and we dread the days of mourning that always come.
- We seek peace. We strive for peace. And sometimes peace must be defended. A future lived at the mercy of terrible threats is no peace at all. If war is forced upon us, we will fight in a just cause and by just means -- sparing, in every way we can, the innocent. And if war is forced upon us, we will fight with the full force and might of the United States military -- and we will prevail. (Applause.)

"Simultaneously dull and disgraceful," fumed the Washington Post's Tom Shales on Saturday, "'DC 9/11' . . . uses the tragic attack on America in 2001 as the basis for a reelection campaign movie on behalf of George W. Bush."
"The two-hour film often plays like a propaganda piece for the president," complained the Boston Herald's Amy Amatangelo.
They probably think "West Wing" is wonderful.
