LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Presidential candidate Howard Dean Saturday urged Californians to vote against the effort to oust Gov. Gray Davis, calling it part of a plan by right-wing Republicans to subvert democracy.

"I think this is the fourth attempt to undermine democracy in this country by the right wing of the Republican Party since the 2000 elections," said Dean.

Other examples, he said, were the refusal by the "conservative-dominated United States Supreme Court" to order a recount of the votes in Florida during the 2000 presidential election

The Supreme Court was right, the recount done by the media showed Bush won Florida, strike one for Howard the Hothead

"I believe they do not care what Americans think and they do not accept the legitimacy of our elections and have now, for the fourth time in the fourth state, attempted to do what they can to remove democracy from America."

Does the Kennedy family name ring a bell? Strike two Howard the Coward.

Dean said it would be unfair to hold Davis wholly responsible for the state's budget deficit, which has since been pared to $8 billion.

"The deficit that was incurred last year is directly traceable to the president of the United States' extraordinary financial policy in which he managed to turn the largest surplus in the history of America into the largest deficit in the history of America in only two-and-a-half years," he said.

I believe Gray-matter Davis has been in charge of California longer than our President has been leading the country...strike three Dean the Dumbster....no for the real vote of confidence...

Although Davis expressed gratitude for Dean's support, he did not reciprocate when asked whether he would support Dean's bid for the Democratic nomination for president.

Good points, but the recession began with Clinton. It ended when W. got his tax cuts passed, and the country is not in recession if you could pass California off to Mexico (the deep desire of Bustamente) the rest of the country would have 4 percent growth.

The supreme court did not hold that votes should not be counted. They held that, since the votes had been counted twice, and Bush won both counts, that the selection of electors should not wait for a third (fourth or fifth) count. Nor should only democratic concentrations be recounted after the first two counts gave the political operatives a "corruption goal" to shoot for.

Dean = Abortionist/Socialist/Liar which means he is the perfect posterboy for the 'rats.

Dean appeals to the far left of the democratic party. He may get the nomination but he won't win the election. Even Liberman said with Dean's policies, the "Bush recession will become the Dean depression." Ouch.

Dean's a loudmouth and is currently spewing what is believed to be the arguments of the day for the benefit of his far left fans. I think the public, in general, is far more afraid of the far-left than they are of the far-right. Plus, Dean is a loose cannon and he's becoming more and more confident everyday. I fully expect him to foul up here in short order and tick a lot of people off. Not to mention that creepy smile of his. Yuck. Talk about a schiester (sp?).

"This recall is nothing more than an attempt by Republicans financed by the right wing to steal an election they could not win. They lost fair and square and, I believe, at the end of the day, voters will do the right thing."

California Democrats tried to recall Reagan twice.

Oh! I'm sorry. Dean didn't mention that?

He added, "I'm tired of having this country run by the right wing. That is not where most people are in this country, and I think we ought not to put up with this anymore."

WRONG!! The majority don't believe in gay marriage, Howard. They support the 10 Commandments Judge by 70%, Howard. 90% believe in God, Howard. 99% believe abortion is a form of murder, Howard. Taxpayers don't like their land stolen for a fish, either, Howard.
Give it up, Howard. You're the freak.

Davis is greatly diminished when the governor of the least populated state in the Union (602 thousand) VT, is campaigning on behalf of the the governor (both democ"rats") of California (30+ million). They're both losers ... big time!

G.W. is doing the rope-a-dope. He's a master at letting the other guys waste all of thier ammo early. Remember 2000? For about two months, Gore and friends were hammering away at Bush, seemingly with impunity, all the while the poll numbers were slipping. I remember Freepers squirming "G.W., please throw some punches..." and getting all worried. Then at and after the GOP convention, Bush and team started firing the heavy artillery with deadly effect.

Enna, your comments are almost always anti-Bush, anti-conservative IMO. Wouldn't you be happier at another website, possible one called DU?

Lieberman was the front runner until the media made Dean as their darling. Dean will be the Dem nominee because he is the media darling. Dean has no strategy except to attack Bush. He is a Clinton retread. He is a lot of blather. The only nominee who could counter Bush's strong point (terrorism) is Lieberman. But the media doesn't like the Jews. And the media cannot stop bringing up Lieberman's religion.

Dean would do best to distance himself from Disaster-Davis. Illegal immigrants and fiscal irresponsibility are not popular, even with most democrats.

The President currently has an approval rating of about 60%. This has stayed relatively constant for some time now, there is no "growing number of Americans...". And in every poll, in every possible scenario, Bush wins. He wins big against Dean. Hillary comes the closest, but not close enough (and she has yet to throw her hat in the ring).
