Are you saying those 11 million conservative Republicans are getting what they deserve?

I didn't write the post you're replying to, but: While I certainly don't believe you 11 million deserve to get what you have already gotten (and which I think will get much worse), I do think you all have GOT to get control of your state GOP from the hands of whatever milquetoasts are currently running the party. (Easier said than done, I know, but the time has come to fight like hell.) And I do have to admit that if I lived in California, I would be very seriously considering a move to another state, unless my job absolutely required me to stay in CA.

If Arnold or McClintock wins, I'd probably stick around a year or two to see if either of them could overcome the venomous, hate-filled socialist RATS that control the Legislature (which, sadly, I don't think either of them will be able to do unless the public starts recalling the legislators as well). But if the recall fails or "N*****" Bustamante wins, I think the game is over, and the best thing for you and your family will be to move elsewhere until after the inevitable collapse of the state and its equally inevitable rebuilding (with a solid conservative GOP supermajority in both houses and iron-fisted control of the Governor's Mansion, with the RATS out of power for generations to come.) But that could take ten years or more. Maybe even twenty.

There's another strategy that some have started using: appear to live elsewhere. I know of someone who set herself up as a Nevada resident - car registration, voting, etc. She actually spends most of her time in California, but she doesn't pay state income tax nor the recently boosted vehicle license fee. It's not a walk in the park - she doesn't dare use her credit cards in California, for example - but it's an approach that looks more and more attractive. Myself, I might check out what it would take to become a virtual resident of Mexico.
