What a load or anti-Israel biased nonsense. The assertion that no gentile has ever reached a position of power in Israel is false. Ariel Sharon appointed an Israeli Arab to his cabinet in his first term as Prime Minister. The "Zionist Right" which the article assails, includes the first Prime Minister to elevate an Arab to the Cabinet.

Secondly, define second or third class. Arabic is one of two official languages in Israel, right alongside Hebrew. Arab Israelis have their own schools or can send their children to the regular Hebrew-speaking schools. It's their choice. They have representation in parliament. Indeed, at times the tacit support of Arab parties was necessary for Labor-led governments to get certain bills through the Knesset.

The comparison to 1920s Poland is erroneous, and designed to stir up anti-Israel feelings. The comparison of Ariel Sharon to fascists is the typical demonization of him that we see from the left on one hand and the Buchananite anti-Semites on the other hand.

Tell me, how does Ariel Sharon, a Jew of Russian heritage (not Polish) differ from Ehud Barak, a Jew from Iraq, differ when it comes to policy towards the Palestinians since October, 2000 and the start of the initifada? Answer: not one iota. Indeed, Sephardic Jews, those who have lived in the Middle East or elsewhere in the Muslim world all their lives and for generations, generally are far more anti-Arab than those who emigrated from Europe. Could that be because they know the Arab all the better?

If you go to Tel Aviv you will be amazed how much it is like New York, just in Hebrew. OK, it's smaller and a bit cleaner, but I am talking about the culture, the freedom, the feeling of the place. I wonder if the poster or the author have ever been to Israel?

Gee, it's good to see good 'ol fashioned Israel-bashing and Jew-hating is alive and well on Free Republic. It had been missing for a few days.

You got it all wrong, Bunky.

I'm a staunch supporter of Israel most of the time (I'll admit that I wasn't too happy about them selling our military technology to the Soviets and ChiComs.)

I posted these articles in order to expose the anti-Semitism of the paleoconservates.

I consider them to be the Typhoid Marys of the conservative movement.
