I noticed from comments on another thread, the candidates name listings are not the same order for all ballots.
If anyone has a California address, they can view a pdf version of the ballot by following the Special Election link at http://www.lavote.net

Thanks for counting and posting the info.
I was going to count them, but I gave up.
I think I heard an election official say that 20% of the votes are determined by placing on the ballot, which tells you something about the voters.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.. Democracy simply doesn't work.

We should go back to only allowing people who own property to vote.
"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury.

Try your math again. You probably tried to subtract the first vote hole number from the last. The numbers you list below are correct and add up to 135, the number of people on the ballot.

It can only exist until the voters discover, have it pounded into them by greedy and disfunctional politicians
that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury.Does that make it a more suitable statement or am I off track from working too many hours today without rest?

the candidates name listings are not the same order for all ballots. Yes, the candidates are first ordered according to a randomly-ordered alphabet. That is the order for Assembly District #1. For each subsequent district, the top candidate moves to the bottom, and everyone else rotates up by one space. We have 80 Assembly districts in CA. Everyone in your A.D. should have the same ballot order as you got.

it also funny that if this is a R conspiracy why are there more Demos candidates than any other? Come Together - Right Now

Here in San Diego Co. we have 1st name is #10. SCHWARTZMAN
and last name #179. is SCHWARZENHAGGER. This ballot is very suspect. How about prop 54? Prohibits state and local government from classifying race ....."Various exemptions apply" I guess this means, it depends on what the word is, IS?!?!
To: starsandstrips
Only a racist would vote against Prop. 54.

It's a simpsons quote.Doh! is the only simpsons quote I am familiar with! : ) Perhaps I need to watch sitcom's and widen my knowlege base!
I have however through out the years been positioned unwillingly by peers to listen to conversation that has stated the same.

You're right. In my rush to post, I neglected to look at the omitted numbers from page to page; that is, I counted from the first candidate #11 to the last one listed #179.
geesh, this may qualify me to vote in Florida - LOL :-)

Let me answer that from the viewpoint of the typical Democrat....:-)...Republicans PURPOSELY loaded the ballot with tricky conservatives who would put "Democrat" after their name. Obviously, Republicans are trying to divide the Democratic voters. Republicans even went so far as to add Hispanic Democrat names to the ballot.
;^)

I love John & Ken when New Yorkers complained that the recall was a circus and John retorted "better a circus than a WHOREHOUSE" heh at least I Can take my kids to the circus
To: Susannah; Rabid Republican
And Edward Kennedy was quoted on Cali TV last week as saying that he (and I'm paraphrasing) felt the second amendment protected citizens' rights to carry weapons, and that this was a deterrent against tyranny in the government.
This guy is a Kennedy, a democrat, and he's more conservative than Arnold!
