Thanks, I just remembered, my ex-boss also stayed at that Marriott but left on 9/10 for home.

He's an insurance guy, and he was at the WTC to visit with the Oppenheimer group in the 2nd tower. He said they ALL GOT OUT.

The background building is also slated to be torn down, if it hasn't happened already.

Is that the building that the news sites have been referring to as the Deutsche Bank Building? In the photos I have, it's referred to as the Banker's Trust Building. It is (was?) a very "spooky" image, esp after the wind ripped the flag in half on last year's anniversary.

When my sister and I got up close to that building last summer, you could see the jagged edges of huge steel beams inside the black netting, where the lobby roof had extended out, on the ground floor.

The building was owned by Deutsche Bank, but when it was first built it was built for Bankers Trust.

Bankers Trust (BT) acquired an investment bank named Alex Brown and became known as BT Alex Brown.

Subsequently Deutsche Bank acquired BT Alex Brown and became known briefly as "Deutsche Bank BT Alex Brown" before they reverted to just Deutsche Bank.

My sister-in-law was miraculously unable to attend work on the fateful morning, but all her coworkers died - she worked at Cantor Fitzgerald.

I mention this because she was a dedicated downtown Manhattanite, her wedding took place at Trinity Church and her reception at the Marriott Hotel.

Imagine the pain she feels - her wedding album is full of photos of dead friends taken in a building that no longer exists.
