The news reported that he had recently had a "restraining order" placed upon him.
YEAH, LIKE THAT HELPED! When, oh when, will the courts realize that restraining orders to ABSOLUTELY nothing for those intent on breaking the law in the first place!

When, oh when, will the courts realize that restraining orders to ABSOLUTELY nothing for those intent on breaking the law in the first place! True. I think the only function served by a restraining order is lagniappe, or something to pile on top of all the other charges when a perp breaks the law.

Not only that, he committed a federal crime by having possession of a firearm while under that restraining order. Why didn't the sheriff (or somebody) come to his house and confiscate his firearms once the restraining order was issued, I wonder?

But a restraining order makes it illegal to break the law........
Yah the point is lost on me too.
A .357 and the phrase "Move one muscle and I'm gonna shoot" is the best restraining order........
