"... this will make our streets safer ... allow all drivers to get insurance..." I heard this same claim from a caller to Walter Williams (Rush stand-in) today. Oh, yeah, the reason illegal immigrants want driver's licenses is so they can buy insurance.
Yeah, right. {Snicker.} Are these people that dumb, or do they just think we are?

They think we're that dumb --- like the illegals who fail the test (sure --- like they'll be even given a test) stop driving, and those who can't afford expensive auto insurance will now stop driving.

I heard this same claim from a caller to Walter Williams (Rush stand-in) today. Interesting... I heard a caller on a local talkshow arguing that we should give illegal aliens I.D. "so we would know who they were"... and the guy just acted completely impervious to the idea (as communicated by the host) that the illegal alien getting the I.D. would probably lie about who he/she/it was.
Now, I'm beginning to think this is one of those orchestrated "seminar caller" operations...
