How can one claim "bias"? 2+2=4 in all cultures, everywhere, every time. "C A T" in English is always spelled the same way.
As the article states, some of these yay-hoos flunked the test a dozen times. Even IF there was cultural bias in the wording of some questions, one would think one could adapt to the tone of the questions in relatively short order.
One question on some test[not necessarily this one] was something to the effect "What would you do on a snow day?" It was claimed to be "unfair" to students[teachers?] from climes with no snow. But they are here in a climate that gets snow. One would think that after a try or five at taking the test, they would have had a snow day and could relate what they did/would do.
Thems what can't do, teach. Thems what can't teach, blame the test.

In addition to your remarks, anyone who has achieved a college degree (I assume that is a teaching requirement even in NYC) and is old enough to teach should have by then overcome any cultural deficiency they may have had. With television, books, even comic books, magazines, et al., by the age of maturity anyone should have been exposed to all aspects of USA culture. Certainly snow should be no mystery.

We know this is just more leftist bs but dumbing down to their level in order to debate them is getting harder and harder.

Requiring teachers be able to read and write in simple English? Scandalous!
