No, the UN is not going to oversee anything. Yes, the press makes it almost impossible for us to get what we need in Iraq, because they've been selling a quagmire for months on the world stage now, and ignoring our successes. What people believe back home is a war crime, imho.
Go to the source. Go to the DoD and CENTCOM and read the briefings - always - when what the press is selling that day is inconsistent with the words and deeds of those running the war. Read the actual quotes from SOD Rumsfeld, Myers. SOS Powell appeases the press, but these men are on the same page. They understand what's necessary to stabilize Iraq. They know the players involved.

But thanks to amazing researchers (like Cowgirl) and others at FR, the truth will be told!

Read and learn
Furthermore, Myers said, there was no reason for the Joint Chiefs to try to outsmart Rumsfeld and other defense civilian leaders, because he and the secretary have always agreed on this issue. "I don't think there has been any daylight (between) the secretary and myself on this issue," he said. "No daylight."
"You've heard the secretary say we want an international effort," Myers said. "(And) you've heard him say we have an international effort." The chairman noted there nearly 40 countries provide security forces in Iraq, and others provide forces and support in other areas.
