U.S. July factory orders rose 1.6 pct Thursday September 4, 9:59 am ET

 WASHINGTON, Sept 4 (Reuters) - U.S. Commerce Department
seasonally adjusted data on U.S. factory orders, shipments and
unfilled  orders.

 The inventories/shipments ratio is a measure of the number
of months it takes to deplete inventories at the current pace of
shipments.
 General machinery includes groups such as industrial, farm,
construction, mining and metalworking.
 Initial orders for July durable goods were issued on Aug.
26.

News orders slacked off a bit and core capital goods (non-defense ex-aircraft) is unchanged, so no increase in cap ex spending is likely.

I assume the fall off in non-def aircraft is Boeing's orders being deferred.
