This is a disgrace...the very least the Senate should have done was force the dumocrats to actually filibuster...put it on the news. And Bush is a coward for not blasting the senate with both barrels from day 1 about their obstructionism. He would have won the vote...but he was denied that chance by a minority.

The way the Senate is built up, if you have 41 Senators you can trust/buy off/blackmail, you own the f***ing legislative body. Too many others won't try to shake things up, because they know they may need the capability posed by the filibuster.
I'm not thrilled, but we're going to have to look at ways to get stuff done. And make sure the nominees know what is possible. Miguel hung on, not knowing how dirty the pool would get.
Now, we know, and we'd better make damn sure they pay a price for this.
