TOM Cruise, John Travolta, Lisa Marie Presley, Kirstie Alley, Juliette Lewis and other Scientologists may have signed away many of the rights that most Americans take for granted. As they move up into the higher levels of the Church of Scientology, members sign documents giving up their right to psychiatric care and to see their families.

I think I'll just remain independent.

You have got to be kidding me.

Do you really expect anyone to believe, that as a result of reading the replies on this thread, that you are no longer a "conservative" but an "independent"?

If that is in fact the case, you do not hold very strong beliefs about anything. IE, a perfect recruit for the $cientologists.

Amazing. People too stupid to even be Mooslims. I didn't think it was possible.

At least if you went up to a Muslim Imam (or Catholic Priest, or Protestant Minister, or Jewish Rabbi, or a scholar of ANY of the world's major religions) and asked him about his religon, he would probably chew your ear off telling you everything there is to know about it, along with giving you their sacred texts to read. You would probably be invited to their place of worship to observe and have ALL your questions answered, probably ad naueaum.

But not the "religion" of Scientology. Nope, there you are deemed not ready to hear the truth, so you must subject yourself and your wallet to continuous auditing for years until you are "worthy" to hear all about OT III and Xenu, et. al..

That should tell you something.

I know many highly intelligent and socially upstanding "OT 3s" who've never complained. Plus I've heard and read everything on that xenu.crap.com Which is why I said "I'm not interested in the topic" as you might recall. I've come to not fully trust any second hand information since it can be proven to be less accurate than the truth and actual facts. You can't argue with that.

In addition to that, all these arguments are one sided. You are trying to destroy something that over a million people love and have found guidance in with propagada that the majority of the million or so people involved haven't even heard about. How rediculous is that?

Given that there is a fine line between propaganda and mere information I still find it terribly obvious that you aren't looking to come to terms with or find a solution to anything, you are only looking to destroy. This makes you a facist.

Give it a rest. Find something more constructive to do with your time.

If the OT III and NOT information is bogus, why does Scientology constantly sue individuals and web providers who post their "copywrited materials" on the net?

But, if you cannot discern the truth for yourself, how can anyone consider you an honest disciple of your faith?

Who knows. But if I had half a bain I might say it's because it's "COPYWRITED MATERIAL" like you said.

Surely you know about "fair use"... otherwise there would be no articles for you to read on FR.

"I, for one, am quite interested in your experiences. What EXACTLY do you DO as a scientologist?"

Well Scientology is the science of "knowing how to know". To elaborate a bit on that; the more you "know" the more aware you become, the more aware you are the more you can handle life, the more you can handle life the more valuable you are. Just a statement of observable fact.

I, for one, try to read at least an hour a day of Hubbards books. Although I am far from perfect (by any means) I have learned a lot about life and people and what to expect of them from Hubbard. He has also helped me realize things about myself, why I act certain ways etc. and helped to get rid of some of that unwanted mis-emotion that we all display at times.

Many Scientologist are active in their community. My girlfriend and I do often do a bi-weekly cleanup of certain roads in our are (picking up garbage) with a group called "the way to happiness club"... sounds corny but oh well.

If you want to talk to me more my e-mail is theskyline@hotmail.com but I gotta run for now.

You miss the point. If it's false, a forgery, a slander upon Scientology, why does Scientology claim to have the copyright? By claiming copyright, they are claiming authorship.

And I have known OT VIII's who have never complained even after being busted down to the work squad. You surely remember all those guys in DARK blue t-shirts running around non-stop..????

This is standard Scientology op manual. You actually learn it right after "The way to happiness" Course.... Question everything and look for verification if it's negative to the CoS. And if your Case Officer does not agree well....

You ALSO learn why the Church of Scientology is NOT a cult (according to websters) etc. etc. etc..

Question for our young clambake friend though.. What level are you at...? How far have you gone in auditing..? Are you even cleared yet...??? And why is it discouraged to hold on to your own religion (catholicism, muslim, whatever) after you get to the higher level..?? (The church right next to the Fort Harrisson Hotel in Clearwater is amazingly empty on Sunday mornings even though the CoS bus stop is right next to it).

People within Scientology are usually highly intelligent and Scientology itself has some interesting tools and techniques to offer. However, from the beginning you are steered just ever so slightly off path... (In my opinion. I in no way bad mouth or have any information in any negative shape or form about the CoS. Please do not take any information that I offer as anything else but some Idiots conjecture in cyberspace).

(It is not true that Larry Flynt's biggest financial donor is Dicker and Dicker of Beverly Hills.)

Absolutely correct. But he does have a bunch of boobs behind him, in front of him, in fact all around him! ;-)

I thought this site was edged towards "conservatism" but I have been disabused of that notion.

Wow, a member for less than three days, and you've seen it all.

I couldn't believe it the first time I saw the actual "E-meter," which looks like a prop from a B-movie.

Thank goodness Jerry Seinfeld got out in time.

I know many highly intelligent and socially upstanding "OT 3s" who've never complained.

The brainwashing works in most cases.

Plus I've heard and read everything on that xenu.crap.com Which is why I said "I'm not interested in the topic" as you might recall. I've come to not fully trust any second hand information since it can be proven to be less accurate than the truth and actual facts. You can't argue with that.

What I've read on sources like xenu.net has proven to be entirely consistent with my first-hand experiences with the CO$. In addition, the CO$'s frantic attempts to suppress the web posting of their documents is as relaible a testimony as one can imagine to the authenticity of those documents.

You are trying to destroy something that over a million people love and have found guidance in with propagada that the majority of the million or so people involved haven't even heard about. How rediculous is that?

Best way to keep people out of the CO$ clutches is to make sure they never get involved.

This makes you a facist.

Rant away, clam boy. Want me to refer you to a good deprogrammer? Or even a good spell-checker? Was that a thetan that misspelled 'fascist', or was that you?

Give it a rest. Find something more constructive to do with your time.

Oh, but this is a good use of my time. I've seen you lads in operation. Every time a hitherto uninformed person checks out www.xenu.net, that's one more worthwhile thing I've done with my life, and one more who won't get fleeced by your merry band of sharks.

Wow, learn something bizarre everyday.

You never ran into these guys before?. When I was in grad. school, they used to stake out areas where there were a lot of new students around, trying to persuade them to take a 'free personality test', After about the fifth request, I agreed, out of curiosity. I filled out a standard Oxford Personality Inventory, and then after scoring it they called me into a room with the head honcho, where they told me how psychopathological I was, and why I needed their help. Meanwhile, I'd been reading 'Dianetics' out in their waiting area (and watching newbie clams being berated for not carefully logging in their entrance and exit times from the premises). So I gave the honcho my quickie evaluation of 'Dianetics', which was not positive. After a little spirited back-and-forth, he ordered me out of the building. I've had a special place in my heart for them ever since.

They have a lot in common with our fave DU cultists, but they're far more professional and scary. They've run serious campaigns of harssment against people who've left the cult, and against other critics
