Such a nice story. The author "forgot" the part where the government sentenced him on secret evidence that the defence attorneys were not allowed to see. Then he kindly omitted the part about how the judge violated the prosecution's own plea bargain agreement and sentenced him to life after he made his plea based on the agreement.

The secret evidence is irrelevant. Nobody is denying his guilt. However, the plea bargain agreement is indeed an issue, but not one that should inspire legions of supporters. Regardless, the more Israel presses this issue, the more likely Pollard will die in prison. The president cannot afford to appear to cave in on a national security issue. If it was off the radar screen for a few years, his release would likely occur... quitly as possible. If the release does occur, it better come with an agreement from Israel to NEVER turn an American into a traitor again.
