I've heard that Iraqi oil reserves are the greatest in the world. Why would the US have to foot the bill, for ten years, when development of these oil wells could be contracted out to private indusrty? Oil revenue from these wells could also pay for some infrastructure improvements in Iraq instead of depending only on US money. In any case, what we are spending in Iraq pales in comparison to the cost of fighting terrorism - I hope we're beyond discussing the NEED to fight terrorism - in the streets of Detroit, New York, San Francisco, etc. I'm not arguing that we spend ourselves into oblivion in Iraq. But, we should consider that it is not all the doom and gloom we read about in the totally biased, election bent, liberal point of view lamestream media.
