Elton's music is timeless, spans 4 decades and was a good choice. The cheese stands alone ;-)

but another question is, what is the opposite of gay? Is it macho, "i'll beat the s*** out of you", piston-pumping leather clad bikers? Or is it regular happily married guys who drive Chevy Impalas and have pot bellies.
To: babble-on
Probably the potbellied chevy guy, not feeling the need to be the alpha male.

Maybe not as headliner, but Motorhead should have been on the final bill. Som any appropriate songs, a singer who fits the traditional Harley bill, and for my money, the best song applicable to the traditional Harley image:
Iron Horse/Born To Lose
He rides a road, that don't have no end,
An open highway, without any bends,
Tramp and his stallion, alone in a dream,
Proud in his colours, as the chromium gleams,
On Iron Horse he flies, on Iron Horse he gladly dies,
Iron Horse his wife, Iron Horse his life
He lives his life, he's living it fast,
Don't try to hide, when the dice have been cast,
He rides a whirlwind, that cuts to the bone,
Loaded forever, and righteously stoned,
On Iron Horse he flies, on Iron Horse he gladly dies,
Iron Horse his wife, Iron Horse his life
Yeah, slide it to me!
One day one day, they'll go for the sun,
Together they'll slide, on the eternal run,
Wasted forever, on speed bikes and booze,
Yeah tramp and the brothers, all born to lose,
On Iron Horse he flies, on Iron Horse he gladly dies,
Iron Horse his wife, Iron Horse his life

I hope so anyway!

It had nothing to do with stereotypes, or marketing segments, or demographics. It was a case of people disappointed because an American company which prides itself on its roots would actually headline someone like EJ. The reaction would have been the same with the Dixie Chicks.
Funny that everyone seems to have missed that.
Besides, Indians are way cooler =)

Marshmallow,
Are you the VP of marketing @ HDMC or just clueless?

Yeah, given the way Lemmy introduced the song to the crowd on the "No Sleep 'til Hammersmith" live album (a classic), there can be no doubt:
"This is for all the Angels in here....."

I don't own a bike, nor are these biker types my friends. I am just stating the facts. It's not my problem if you don't like it.

Better Off Dead
There was a face on a hoarding that someone had drawn on
And just enough time for the night to pass by without warning
Away in the distance there's a blue flashing light
Someone's in trouble somewhere tonight
As the flickering neon stands ready to fuse
The wind blows away all of yesterday's news
Well they've locked up their daughters and they battened the hatches
They always could find us but they never could catch us
Through the grease streaked windows of an all night cafe
We watched the arrested get taken away
And that cigarette haze has ecology beat
As the whores and the drunks filed in from the street
`Cause the steams in the boiler the coals in the fire
If you ask how I am then I'll just say inspired
If the thorn of a rose is the thorn in your side
Then you're better off dead if you haven't yet died
Sir Elton John

AMEN on the Motorhead!...........but then the perfumed princes would be walking out and they have the goldcards. Road Crew!
I saw them a few years ago at the Pacific Ampitheatre. They opened for the "new improved Judas Priest". The whole show kicked butt, unfortunately we forgot the earplugs...
