What's the deal? I read somewhere that Reid is Mormon. I always thought Mormons were very conservative. Was this wrong? How can a Mormon be a social liberal?

He's a Mormon, but he is a complete liberal - there's no law saying he has to be a social conservative.

***How can a Mormon be a social liberal?***

There are Catholics who are pro-abortion liberals. Just ask Ted Kennedy.

Re Harry Reid, he was originally a pro-life social conservative. He has since converted to pro-abort orthodoxy in Washington, similar to Dick Gephardt and many other Rats. Who knows what they really believe?

Will it be Erskine vs. Blue again? Or are Congressmen Etheridge and/or McIntyre interested?

I'm guessing the congresscritters will stay put for now. State treasurer Richard Moore, Rat golden boy, may run. Bowles is definitely interested, as is Blue; a 3-way primary would be very interesting and winnable for each.
