This is one of those "moderate" muslims. You know, the kind who claim to be peaceful, but somehow always manage to find excuses for the extremists and terrorists. IMO, muslims who don't unconditionally condemn the actions of muslim extremists should be put into the same category as the extremists themselves. Making excuses for them is an insult to the thousands of their victims all over the world.

Right. The guy makes an argument that Jihad is not Holy War per se and implies that its perception as such results from misinformation and misunderstanding from liberals. He then goes on to illuminate its definition as being a multi-stage process that culminates with holy war and world conquest. The reason he gives for not pursuing physical war is only that Muslims might not have the necessary resources to win. So what are we to think of Iran pursuing nukes?

The more I look at Islam the less I believe we will avoid a serious global blood letting. Forcible domination of the world is one of the roots of Islam. Clearly the world will never submit to this. They have been on an agenda for 1300+ years and we have absolutely no reason to believe they will ever stop.

Our only hope is that "moderate" Muslims bring about a major change in Islam itself. Maybe they will conclude one day that armed conflict can only bring destruction in modern times and it is, therefor, un-Islamic to pursue it.

I fear that the more likely outcome, given WMD proliferation, is that we are going to have to teach the Muslims some lessons that will be very painful for the entire world. If the only reason they have for not pursuing armed conflict would be a realization that they would be crushed then we have no choice but to keep crushing them until they change their position.

This sucks but we didn't ask for it this way. They defined their religion such that the entire world has no choice but to defend against it.
