My nephew, Jordan, who is the son of fellow FReeper InGodWeTrust, is having open heart surgery at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin tomorrow, Sept 4. Jordan is 13 and contracted a very severe case of Rheumatic fever, which has attacked and damaged two of his heart valves. The surgeons will have to repair/replace them both in surgery expected to last 5+ hours. My sister and her husband are scared to death, Jordan is being very brave, and Auntie (me)has decided the best thing I could do for all of them is to ask for prayers for successful surgery and speedy recovery.

Joining your FReeper family in prayer ... Lord, be that still, small voice of reassurance to Jordan as he is prepared for surgery tomorrow. Speak to him of comfort and trust as he receives care from the medical team ... guide the thoughts and preparation and procedures ... overrule all that would hinder successful surgery and complete healing.

Bring to the family the very people needed at this time ... ones who will speak words of assurance and who will bring comfort with Your words ... gather this family under the mantle of Your love and give them grace and courage to face with confidence, all that will be done on behalf of their beloved son and nephew, Jordan ... in the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...

We humbly come before You to place Jordan in Your arms, asking that You would see him safely through this surgery and that You would restore him to perfect health. Father, you know everything that he needs, and surely You will provide for this young man and his family. Place Your wisdom and skill in the mind and hands of the surgeon. Grant Jordan expert care from nurses and all who will come in contact with him. And Father, throughout this trial, please draw Jordan to You and make him a strong believer in Your Word and Your promises. We are so thankful that You are in charge, Lord. Place trust in all Jordan's family members, and help them to lean on You. Great and mighty God, You are able to do far more than we can imagine or think. We praise You for Your faithfulness, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
