France Agrees to Pay U.S. $575 Million in Executive Life Case Sept. 3 (Bloomberg) -- The French government and Credit Lyonnais SA reached an agreement with U.S. prosecutors to pay about $575 million to avoid criminal charges related to the purchase of failed California insurer Executive Life, said people familiar with the negotiations.
