I think the text was leaked as a sort of "look what we could do" to deflect negative attention from Patriot I.

Publish something completely insanely unacceptable to make the already unacceptable(Patriot I)appear reasonable.

Patriot Act I was pretty scary too. I'm always paranoid when law enforcment types start talking about needing more "tools". I expressed some doubts about Pat I here on FreeRepublic and got the cr*p kicked out of me for being paranoid, unpatriotic, stupid or having something to hide. The government is NOT your friend people, they just feed off of you and the easier you are to control the easier it is to feed.

I am myself... more than a little paranoid about this stuff.
if only five percent of it was "true" it's too much for me to take.

I don't believe that bush let this happen to seize power. I don't beleive our military did this or "allowed" this.

but the ptb sure do seem intent on using this to gain permanent control of a lot of our freedoms...
