In the propaganda of the various related Aztlan organization, of which MEChA is one, they express an elequent sympathy to, and in their own words parallel to the Palestinian cause. Their homeland was stolen to them by the English speaking "occupiers" after the treaty of Guadalupe Hildalgo.
Rather than ask stupid questions, do a little research. These people aren't HIDING. YET.
Save the dramatics.

No, you have not. You have instead attacked the topic and point of this thread without any substantiation for your position at all, just childish denunciations and blanket dismissals with nothing other than your opinion for a basis. You have posted nothing that supports your denunciations at all.
When looking for some idea of what you meant by an "answer" to my question, the best I can find is:
"It's a left-leaning college club. What have they accomplished?"
Some "answer". You haven't answered my question at all. Frankly, I still don't know why you keep dodging the issue. You're just throwing out unsupported statements, repeatedly, rudely and almost desperately, while denigrating the purpose of this thread and the people contributing to it.
That's called "trolling", and you are being a "troll".
Before branding you a troll, I figured I'd give you a shot at commenting on the facts. You've made it quite clear, however, that the facts in this matter are irrelevant to you.
I prefer not to use the "troll" label, and instead engage trolls on the merits of their arguments. Unfortunately, you have given me nothing to work with. There's no merit to your arguments at all.
There's nothing wrong with being flippant and glib if you wish to, I like to have fun with some threads myself. But there's no humor to your posts in this thread, just puzzling, senseless denials, insults directed at other FReepers and ridicule of the truth. I hope that's not your idea of a joke.
When you discredit yourself in this way, don't be surprised when the grown-ups stop listening to you. You've already demonstrated that it is a waste of time trading posts with you, and that your opinion is unsupported by facts.
Troll away if you like, but the pointlessness of attempting to reason with you on this issue is now well-documented for everyone who reads this thread.
I can't say whether or not this is true of Bustamante, but his continued support of this group is a big red flag.
I knew of the Aztlan movement for years before this issue hit the press, but did not know the Lieutenant Governor of California supported it.
What I don't know is how much he supports the insurrectionist aspects of the MEChA agenda and whether or not that support extends to using his office to further MEChA goals. Certainly, in light of the politics surrounding illegal immigration in California, this is an extremely relevant thing to want to know about.
While I do think some of the press surrounding MEChA these days is overblown, not all of it is. There is a fire behind all the smoke. Also, the "reconquista" movement is not limited to MEChA, and deserves some research and analysis as a whole, but MEChA is not a bad place to start.
Unlike some of the less-informed contributors to this thread (cough, *PRND21*, cough), I think it makes sense to find out more about this organization, what it is doing now (it is a national movement with chapters throughout the U.S.), and what it plans to do, in greater detail.
Bustamante notwithstanding, any group which has the goals that MEChA has publicly espoused is worth keeping track of.
Maybe, maybe not. I haven't seen anyone supporting Bustamante on this thread, just some dissent about whether or not it makes sense to investigate MEChA and Bustamante's ties to MEChA.
However, anyone that knows anything about the Free Republic knows that the best way to get people interested in something is to try to discourage interest. It's just human nature. :^)
So in that vein, I say: "Nothing to see here, move along now, it's just some silly college kids who can't change anything in the world, Bustamante's not going to win anyway."
