[history]
Gov. Gray Davis and Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante stumped at union rallies across the state Monday, portraying Arnold Schwarzenegger as the political stepchild of Pete Wilson, the former governor whose policies infuriated organized labor.
Schwarzenegger made his first public appearance in three days at the California State Fair in Sacramento, where he was mobbed by supporters and autograph seekers as he touted a pro-business and pro-education message.

Political analysts cited another reason Schwarzenegger may have chosen the later debate: The California Broadcasters Association plans to give the candidates the questions in advance of the debate. By contrast, at Wednesday's debate in Contra Costa County, the questions to the candidates will be a surprise. How convenient that Arnold can spare some campaigning time for the "special" debate.

"VOTE4MCCLINTOCK or pay the con$equence$!"
When will Tom Almighty learn that DAVIS and the Democrats are the opponants in this race ?
He should be gratefull that Arnold is not showing up, so that he will not be overshadowed by the star power.
Lets see if he actually wants to beat Davis and Cruz or not.

Just wondering why you would think that attacking Arnold would give him a better chance of beating Davis / Cruz ?

It's incredible to me that California dems continue to harp and whine about Prop 187. Their state is broke, the cost of living is outrageous, everyone is drowning in taxes and businesses are high tailing it out of state. Their response to this dilemma? Moan and groan that freebies might be taken away from ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!!!!! DemocRATS have to be the most irresponsible and stupid people on earth. < /understatement of the year>
To: kellynla
You still don't make sense - The goal is Davis /Cruz, yet your boy seems to be obcessed with Arnold while they get a free pass -
Does he think he is going to pick up Arnolds supporters by trashing them ?
Is trashing Arnold going to drag Dems away from Davis ?
Where are his gains going to come from ?

"Schwarzenegger's rivals seized on the decision to portray him as a political novice who is not ready to go head-to-head in a live format with other candidates."
Well Duuh - How many debates does the Governor get in when he is not running for office ?
How many debates do successfull people who know business get into in their careers?
How many debates have McClintock, Davis, and Cruz gotten into ? --- and If debates are so good, why is CA in such bad shape with all these political debates we have had over the years ?

Exposing a RINO's liberal views and weaknesses to you is "trashing" ? FYI, McClintock is fighting for the votes of conservative and moderate voters not liberals. And again, if you had been paying attention, McClintock has written and spoken on the incompetencies and liberal views of the Dimwit Davis and Bust-the-bank for months if not years. click here to catch up

Need I remind you how many debates Davi$ participated in last election?
One at Noon Hour in LA in 2002.. Yeah right , lots of debates in the past,, and now even Arnold will ignore them.
And you think that is healthy? Maybe if we could kick the tires on a few candidates , more voters would really see them for what they are.. A lot of hot air, and hollow promises, for the most part. That is why Tom scares all the candidates. He is not a Hollow Man.

28 August 2003 e.v. After refusing many pleas to run for governor, I have reconsidered and now enter the race as an unofficial write-in candidate. After all, why should I remain the ONLY nutcase in California who ain't running? My party, the Guns and Dope Party, invites extremists of both right and left to unite behind our shared goals of:
Get those pointy-headed Washington bureaucrats off our backs and off our fronts too!
Guns for everybody who wants them; no guns for those who don't want them
Drugs for everybody who wants them; no drugs for those who don't want them
Freedom of choice, free love, free speech, free Internet and free beer
California secession -- Keep the anti-gun and ant-dope fanatics on the Eastern side of the Rockies
Lotsa wild parties every night by gun-toting dopers
Animal protection -- Support your right to keep and arm bears
More position papers will follow; we know at least 69 good positions.
POSITION PAPER 5
Major goal of first term: California secesion. [Oregon, Washington State and B.C. invited to join Freetopia....]
First order of business on assuming office: Fire 33% of the legislature [names selected at random] and replace them with full-grown adult ostriches, whose mysterious and awesome dignity will elevate the suidean barbarity long established there.
Both the pro-gun people and the dopers [medical, religious and/or receational] feel like minorities, and the TSOG [Tsarist Occupation Government] agrees with this estimate of their weakness. Our contention holds that in California both groups woikin' together make a MAJORITY. Ergo, they have much to gain and nothing to lose in combining forces. Each side only has to realize this and agree "We'll tolerate their hobbies if they'll tolerate ours" and we can even beat Schwarzenegger!

... and his website has a disturbing lack of accompishments over the years... it appears that he can talk a lot, but actually getting things done eludes him.
Since Davis Arnold and Cruz are polling better then Tom Almighty it appears even his bashing talents are not quite up to snuff

and what do you remember from any debates - a few catch phrases ? " There you go again..."
Since Tom will never be able to accomplish what he is saying with a Dem Lt. Gov and Dem legislature are they hollow promises and hot air also ?
I know, I know ... go read his website
http://www.tommcclintock.com ... and I found a lot of things that sound good, and a few that might actually work... but NONE that he could actually get done, long on theory, short on practice... and we all know the long list of Tom Almighty's accomplishments....( it's on his website )

Again, you should have learned what Mark Twain use to say "better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you a fool than to open it and remove all doubt"...what accomplishments would you expect to find of a member of the minority? McClintock has been the major force behind keeping the waste, fraud and abuse down in a Democrat controlled California. What have you done or more importantly has Aunold done to hold the cost down in Sacramento for the past twenty years? N O T H I N G ! Your ignorance of politics is really boring me...try educating yourself before you ask these stupid questions...

Gee - without this "major force" we might have a 38 Billion dollar deficit... I'm so proud of what he's accomplished in the last 20 years !

"but NONE that he could actually get done, long on theory, short on practice..." Line Item Veto to cut the budget and balance it in less than two years, cutting the triple car tax, cancelling the 32 billion dollar electrical contracts, replacing the CA worker's comp with AZ worker's comp...good thing you are a member of the Aunold fan club otherwise we might have to really worry! Guess that's why he's not showing up for the debate tomorrow...his knowledge of what "can" and "cannot" be done is about as profound as yours... ROFLMAO

....seems like we've been here before
You obviously have never looked at the budget, and McClintock is silent on just WHAT he would cut.
Cutting the car tax - even Cruz says he will do that
Canceling contracts - and the lawyers line up salivating - ( and that money is not in the budget anyway )
Replacing Workman's comp - since many if not most of CA government is self-insured, to save money they have to cut benefits
The last two MAY increase the revenue to the Treasury... allowing them money to spend rather then debt, but it's still money they spend.
