Babies are just the best. I look at my three year old and wish sometimes that she still had that wide eyed wonder that babies do.
We are having a personal baby boom in our family so I can live on the next generation.
Can't wait til March!

Unfortunately when your business is failing, you have to work twice as hard. He's a good father, but I don't think that playing with children is his "thing." He's working at a bank (more stable) now and things are much better. They've recently built a new house and the oldest is entering "mainstream" kindergarten this year. He's smart as a whip, although he still has a few language issues.
It took a lot of work to get out of their financial problems caused by a business partner who bilked them out of a lot of money. They paid it all off without having to declare bankruptcy, but it was touch and go for a while.

Well, God Bless them! This sounds like a true story of overcoming hardship. All the best to them!

No matter how good something thinks their babysitter or day care is --- it's always a very good idea to sometimes take an unannounced half day off --- or get out of work a few hours early --- just to be sure. My 5 YO goes to a day care center for about 10 hours per week after kindergarten because I've gone back to school. I've watched their bus procedure from down the street and I've already dropped in for lunch. I purposely never told them what time each day I will be picking him up.
You HAVE to check up on these people.

Thank you God, even though we eat Hamburger Helper and hotdogs every night, I have the ability (or common sense) to stay with my kids. Thank God for Netmilsdad!! I don't know what I'd do if I had a husband who had "discouraged" me from being home. They've been changing things at work and we took a pay cut last year, so I decided to get myself back into school. He was supportive of that too, knowing that if I was comfortable with 2-3 hours of preschool for the youngest then it would be fine.
I used to work in day care and I'm pretty aware of the undercurrents. Last year's program (at the college) was fantastic. I'm still feeling out and watching the new place.

Best of Luck in school.
(2 to 3 hours in College daycare is not the same as 40 to 50 hours every week, but you know that)
