How gay is your car?

A French website dedicated to gay motoring enthusiasts, Clubautorainbow as well as the Daily Telegraph gave the Peugeot 206cc the thumbs up for Gay Car of The Year.

The website says the winning qualities of the 206cc include originality, unconventionality and its design. Then of course there is also the fact that a lot of gay people have bought the little French drop-top.

The runner-up for the website's title was the MINI Cooper and the third prize went to the New Beetle. Other firm favourites in the running were the Smart City Coupé and Mercedes SLK.

Cars that were just "gay enough" were the BMW Z4, Jeep Wrangler, Porsche Boxster and the VW Golf.

Among the "closeted" gay cars were the Audi A3, Chrysler PT Cruiser and Fiat Multipla.

The Daily Telegraph's choice for the top gay car were also the topless Peugeot with the Smart, Mini Cooper, Mercedes SLK and New Beetle short on its heels.

According to the Telegraph heterosexual cars include the Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari Enzo and Alfa Romeos. The Renault Scenic and the Citroën C5 are apparently super-straight cars.

The 2004 GTO has 340hp but the body is ugly. The should never have quit making the Trans-Am.

The original Fiat Multipla was definitely as queer as a three dollar bill:

The new Multipla is ugly as sin, but from the inside it actually works quite well. Now that I know it's gay, I'll have to stay far away.

I only rode in one once, and from the inside it was really quite ingenious. But alas, it's an Italian car, and the design is absolutely brilliant (from the INSIDE), but just don't touch anything or it will immediately break.

The new Multipla was designed from the inside out and form follows function. I can't decide if this is uglier than the Aztek or not...

What do you think??

To each his own -- I rather like the '04 GTO, but would haver preferred Corvette running gear in an updated '65 GTO body style. Kinda like Ford did with the (this is the last model year you can buyem) Thunderbird and the (probably will not be produced) '49 Ford update.

If I ever win the lottery, I'll implant a Corvette suspension and transaxle into my '65 GTO -- with a REAL PONTIAC engine, of course.

Now excuse me, I'm gonna throw my rifles, ammo, and targets in the back of my Jeep, and go to the range. Any Frogs want to go with me?

Heck, they'd surrender before the first target was hit! Or, did you mean "frog" in the more military sense? :)

Whoa. I think I would have to draw the line there. Just because someone puts the phrase "a real man can" doesn't mean it is automatically true.

Yeah, if you happen to have a spare 33K hanging around doing nothing, which looking at your screen name, apparently you do.

I did a double-take when I first saw the new GM engine at a car show two years ago. Designed specifically for SUVs and trucks, the Vortec 4200 (4.2 liter) is an inline six - incredible but true. It'd make a sweet powerplant for an older Chevy pickup "restomod" project.

Nothing new there. My '86 Jeep CJ-7 is equiped with a 4.2L 258ci inline six. The engine produces enough torque to climb over nearly anything.

Hey Doug, long time, no see.

I think he gave me the car instead of a raise, which he said I deserve. I would rather have had the raise but money is tight right now in the apartment business, so I'll take what I can get.

Well, I don't have a spare $33k lying around. LOL! I need to win the lottery in order to indulge in any of my exotic gearhead fantasies.

My screen name is a derivative of the action and passion of the past twelve and one-half years my life -- replacing the income tax with a National Retail Sales Tax and abolishing the IRS.

FYI, I am a co-founder and the Executive Vice President of the National Retail Sales Alliance, Inc., a national grass-roots educational group working with like-minded citizens and organizations to replace the income tax with a National Retail Sales Tax and abolish the IRS.

“I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.” [Thomas Jefferson, letter to Benjamin Rush, 1800.]

We will never be a truly FRee people so long as we have the income tax and the IRS.

Now that is what I would call a worthy cause. If you can get that done (and I win the lottery) then I will buy you a 2004 GTO with all the options.

I think you should drive your 4WD Suburu til the wheels fall off, just to FRustrate the local lesbians!

Well, the truth is that I do want that F-250. A 4WD four-door diesel. As I'm going to be moving back to the country in the next year or so it would be practical, and even now a station wagon is not big enough to haul all our horse-junk or reenacting junk around.

Besides, there is something very appealing to me about the idea of a delicate blonde lady in silk and pearls driving a huge bull of a truck, especially if the truck bears an NRA sticker and a First National flag. Maybe there's something wrong with me.

Well, Capriole, I would say that . . ."there is something very appealing to [ME, TOO!] about the idea of a delicate blonde lady in silk and pearls driving a huge bull of a truck, especially if the truck bears an NRA sticker and a First National flag!" LOL!

Maybe there's something wrong with me.

I hardly think so. I'll trade you a ride in my '65 GTO for a ride in your F-250 4WD four-door diesel truck, whenever you are ready!

Pontiac Aztec

Looks like a cockroach with a smashed up butt. One of the ugliest cars of all time.

Does that mean he's gay and I'm a lesbian?

No, it means that you're a gay man in a female body and he's a lesbian in a man's body. (I didn't make this up, I heard Rush say it) :)
