[IMRA: The beauty of the series of private industry contracts providing American technical assistance to the Saudi armed forces is that it considerably stretches the envelope of possible Saudi military activity that could be carried out without jeopardizing the assistance. It might be hard to imagine American GI's providing ongoing technical assistance and support services to Saudi forces participating in an attack against Israel in a joint operation with Egypt but the continued functioning of a private American contractor under those circumstances might be a different story.]
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has decided to continue aid for the development of Saudi Arabia's navy.
The Bush administration has approved the project in wake of the shooting of a U.S. defense contractor in a Saudi naval base on May 1. The attack was said to have been carried out by a Saudi naval officer in the King Abdul Aziz naval base.
The Defense Department has awarded a $7.9 million contract to Booz Allen Hamilton, based in McLean, Va., for support for the Royal Saudi Navy. The Pentagon said the contract would focus on technical advisory and assistance support services for the navy's command, control and communication upgrade program.
Officials said the latest contract supports the government of Saudi Arabia under the Foreign Military Sales Program. They said the contract includes nine one-year options which, if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of this contract to more than $95.3 million.

Our "assistance" to the Saudi Navy should be limited to sinking the entire Saudi Navy and imposing an embargo on their miserable country until they stop supporting Wahabi terrorism.

That's what I say, esp. every time I see every other car bomber coming out of Saudi Arabia.

If I apply for a job at Booz Allen Hamilton and they turn me down because I'm Jewish, how much can I sue them for?

If I apply for a job at Booz Allen Hamilton and they turn me down because I'm Jewish, how much can I sue them for? Some years ago I was working as a software contractor for Litton Data Command Systems while they had the contract for the Saudi Air Defense system. A manager at Litton wanted to send me to Saudi at one point. I told him "my wife's Jewish". He said "never mind". I didn't want to go in any event

The Saudi Navy should stay afloat for about one hour ... one of these should be enough to do the job ...

I remember an email dialogue I had with a friend in Israel about six months back, near the onset of the "Road Map" scenario and near the end of the Iraqi war. I made mention of the real flaky alliance the American nation, geo-politically, has with Israel. He was incredulous I would say something along those lines, because he felt America was Israel's "good friend" and had their best interests at heart.
Think the American private military industry, with tacit endorsement of our government, would sell out Israel for a buck?
Naaaaah....

I'm not near as upset with the Saudis as the officials in this country that keep jeopardizing our security by aiding them. They are looking after their national interests while our officials are looking out for themselves.

Okay, maybe they're shooting Americans, sending terrorists to attack our troops in Iraq and sponsoring terrorist attacks against the U.S. and our allies, but that doesn't mean we can't be friends.
Administration policy: Terrorism or no terrorism, it's all about the bling-bling, baby!

A friend of mine who spent years in the KSA in the 80s and 90s knew had a Jewish who really enjoyed living there, (he didn't bother to tell the Saudis about his religious beliefs.)
