I fully understand, after having to rid a house of a woodpecker, finally caught it in a minnow net. I was about to try some really light loads in a 20 gauge.

Best remedy for a woodpecker is a pellet rifle. Silent but deadly. We had one start working our house over several years back. I had menioned it to a fellow Ky National Guard member. He had almost gone to jail over one. He went to the local game warden who told him he could not shoot it as it was protected. Then when the stopped pecking holes in his house he was a prime suspect in killing an endangered bird.
