[history]
A judge ordered that the ballot summary for Proposition 54 be changed, saying it does not accurately portray the measure's potential effect on medical research.
The statewide initiative backed by University of California regent Ward Connerly would block public agencies from collecting and using many types of racial data.

I was curious about this, in light of the TOTAL win in court by Diane Schachterle/RPI (see www.racialprivacy.org - press releases). Apparently, a wee change is being made to the 50 word Yes/No summary - as pushed and requested by Maldef lawyers. But what infuriates me is:
There is no nationwide media coverage on the RPI wins at court. If you see any - please post here and let me know? Winning. RPI (And it was the very excellent Diane Schacterle who was in court on behalf of RPI) WON.
On the otherhand, regarding this wee win by MALDEF? The summary of and by RPI - is THIS not a prime example if not purpose of political free speech -- and attempted censoring by Maldef? What was the judge thinking?
Again, this was a MAJOR WIN in court by Diane/RPI and lawyers. If Maldef had won -- the papers would be headlining this across the nation, not just CA.
