Him staying in the whole way while we throw Klansmen bombs at Bustmante is his worst case scenerio for Bob, because Demos simply aren't going to turn out for racist who wants to raise taxes on the poor by $8 billion. Its a question of voter turnout and Bob knows it, McClintock keeps conservative turnout high.
McClintock could have won this election. He still could win if everything breaks just right--including Schwarzenegger dropping out. Bceuae of Arnold's mammoth ego, that isn't likely to happen, but never let it be said by informed and honest conservatives of good faith that this was unwinnable for McClintock.
Had Arnold remained in Hollywood or jet-setting to London to fondle and pinch reporters' breasts and buns instead of demanding his "due" as Liberal Emperor of California, McClintock would be the front runner right now. Bustamante would be struggling to hold his 35 percent base.
