This hurricane is really gaining stregth. Anyone have any path forcasts? The weather people aren't touching this one.
The path of Hurricane Fabian is still anyone's guess, though the National Hurricane Center is still predicting a WNW or NW turn -- but that hasn't happened as scheduled. Right now it is bearing down on the Islands at about 18.6 N 58 W and is at Cat. 4 status on the verge of becoming a Cat. 5. Last vortex report was 942 millibars.
The most intense storm in recorded history was Hurricane Gilbert in the late 80's at 888 millibars.
All interests along the Eastern Coast as well as the Islands should closely monitor this very dangerous hurricane.
Some are even comparing the present track to the infamous "Long Island Express" hurricane of 1938 that devasted the NE.
