"It suggests that Christians must become sinless from the moment they profess faith in Christ until the day they die, or Christ will take back his salvation and they will go to Hell.."

BTW, this was an early belief that the Church had to deal with when there were still catacombs. Catholics certainly do not believe the concept of lifelong sinlessness.

Thanks for the reply and interpreting my question. :)

How would the Church know she is sexually active with her live-in lover? She is quite vocal about her activities as posted in her website. She seems quite the activist.

Well, since she's been in the paper, she's certainly "outed" now.

It is rather amazing this whole thing made the paper in the first place.

LOL ( ;

It's hard for me to fathom....and it isn't that I have not been exposed to this. I have listened to some of the most heinous things that humans can do to one another, but it just doesn't stay in my psyche.

Why are leftists so eager to use their children as pawns in their quest for power?

What kind of mental illness allows one to shout, "It's for the children" one minute and the next minute use then like a hand grenade in the culture war?

I never stated that one would demand a higher standard of others. That is absolute nonsense.

You're the one who posted;
OpusatFR;"You cannot be kind and practice Charity without practicing justice."

And you did so in opposition to my view that the little girl should not be denied entry into the Catholic school, which can afford to be charitable toward the child.
That the child should not be punished or stigmatized for the sins of her mother.

So what "justice" are you suggesting needs to be practiced in order to be charitable toward this child?
You're not making any sense.

You are back to the idea of tolerance and acceptance for the sake of tolerance and acceptance.

Not true. Nothing I've posted has a thing to do with the Catholic church tolerating and/or accepting sin or compromising their moral convictions on anything.

Once again, it is that the child should not be punished and stigmatized for her mothers sexual life.

"So far you haven't managed to show us anything the Catholic Church believes and how it conflicts with any of my arguments."

You apparently don't read. I've posted the Church's position on divorce which relates directly to one of your posts. It also lends itself to the argument on continued homosexual relations and the aspect of the sacraments and attendance at Mass.

Nobody is suggesting that openly practicing lesbians should have the right to attend mass and receive the Catholic communion.
And I never disagreed with the Church's position on divorce.

Once again, neither of these things have a thing to do with the issue I was debating.

Well Jorge for once we are in some kind of agreement. If I were running the parish I would welcome the girl to Catholic School with conditions placed on here two Moms.

The first condition would be there signature on a piece of paper acknowledging that the Catholic religion teaches that homosexual behavior is wrong and sinful.

The second condition would be that, like a designated hitter, they would have to designate one Mom to interact at school.

My grandkids go to Catholic School in part to avoid the moral relativism taught in public schools that is contrary to our faith and our beliefs and I see no reason why others footing the bill for the same reason must have Heathers two Mom's shoved in their face.

I don't think there is any excuse for a person not knowing where the Catholic Church stands on homosexuality.
It's not exactly a secret.

Right. When it comes to dealing with the school, her mother is her mother. None of this "two mommies" weirdness.

My grandkids go to Catholic School in part to avoid the moral relativism taught in public schools that is contrary to our faith and our beliefs and I see no reason why others footing the bill for the same reason must have Heathers two Mom's shoved in their face.

Let's face it. If "Daddy's Roomate", "Heather Has Two Mommies" and assorted nonsense of the "Rainbow Curriculum" was rejected and removed from New York City schools..there is no way this crap would fly in Catholic school. They would close the schools first.

Bill O'Reilly did a segment on this last night. The mother said she "did not make an issue of her lifestyle." She assumed they inferred it from the child's birth certificate. The child is adopted and the "moms" are listed as the parents. Also, she is a member of the parish where the school is.

It was a very short segment which left much unanswered. O'Reilly apparently also interviewed her on his radio show. Anyone catch it?

I didn't see or hear it. I waded through her blog which tells me she has some very serious issues. She is an activist that is fairly obvious.

Have you read a few of her entries. She has been following this on Free Republic and posting comments made by Freepers on the threads.

I'm pretty sure her goal is to challenge the Church's authority.

And just who is going to pay for the lawsuit? The Church and the Parishoners.

She has an agenda. What if she agreed not to sue when her child finally realizes that her mother is in a sinful relationship, you think. Well, this isn't an adulterer or any other sinful activity. Adulterers don't have focus groups, lobbyists, and coalitions. This is a lesbian with backing and an agenda.

That won't hold up in court. All she needs is an activist court and there are plenty of them out there. All she has to claim is that her civil rights were violated and her child was presented with a hostile situation. Then, all heck will break loose.

This is not an innocent situation. She isn't some lamb to be led into faith. She's an activist with an ax to grind.

Sorry. Been reading another blog by someone of the same name posted as the person this brouhaha is all about. Not the same though the activism is still left of left.

The blog domain belongs to some lefty with a skewed view on the world of men. No wonder it was mistaken as ~the~ one.

In any event, my view hasn't changed.

blog? :/

Didn't change my opinion, either, which is that the school made the right decision.

I saw it.

Now we see that all these accusations that she is a lesbian activist using her daughter to attack the Catholic Church and to push a gay agenda...are all completely out of line.

No surprise that the same people who were pushing this fictional nonsense were also throwing wild and hysterical accusations at me for defending the little girl.
Truly sad.
