There have been several Christian women from northern Iraq telling of the history of Christianity there.
They appeared several times on the WABC 770am NYC "Batchelor & Alexander Show" and told of the ancient cities there and their recent problems with the Turks and with Saddam Hussein's regime.

One is a woman physician, the other a woman professor I believe.
Tough bunch of people, they will not give up.
You can probably email Batchelor & Alexander thru the WABC 770am NYC website and get some leads and contacts from them.
They cover the Middle-East all the time and Batchelor has Christian family roots back in that area.
Can't recall what that area's Christians are called; their ancient stone buildings date back to early Christianity.

This is sort of a wild guess (and I'll probably stand corrected), but I vaguely
think the term "Chaldean" is applied to at least some Christians from that area.
IIRC, some of them are transplanted to Detroit. I read a story about a family of them running
convenience stores in the war-zones of Detroit...carrying Uzis when they transport
the days receipts to the car...
