"American military power seems to unable to keep up with events in a country where everything is out of control." US forces have been kept away from the shrine to Imam Ali in Najaf in recent months because of its sensitive nature.
Hmm - seems to me that the problem is not the inability of the American military to exert control, but the unwillingness of certain parties to accept U.S. protection.

And your point is?
How is it the responsibility of America when these people will go so far as to bomb their own religious establishments?
All in the name of Allah!!!!!!!

"American military power seems to unable to keep up with events in a country where everything is out of control." I stopped reading right here. The author loses credibility as soon as he resorts to hyperbole such as "everything is out of control." An obvious hit piece. And not even a subtle one at that.

Because we invaded their country, promised democracy, and hope to use Iraq as an example to show the rest of the Muslim/Arab world how to become civilized. LOL! So that makes it America's fault that terrorists are resisting such a metamorphosis? Please. And to think we've had the nerve not to have a Utopian democracy in place in 4-5 months!

No its not our responsibility when we have been banned from the mosque. When will the Iraqis accept the fact that they have to someday soon start to control their own

The unltimate fool's errand. The Iraq War was unjustified and is unwinnable. The sooner we realize it and turn this mess over to the Iraqis or UN, the better.

And we said it would take two years.
Little early to declare defeat (but not for the French of course).

It's not our fault, but it is our responsibility. I agree with that statement, but the article is definitely pinning the blame where it doesn't belong.
