Prop. 187 was a proposition to keep public benefits like education and health out of the hands of illegal immigrants. Voters said it didn't have a chance in hell. It passed with over 60% majority. It was immediately tossed into the court system where is was ultimately defended by the governor (Davis) who did nothing.
Tom wants to call special legislative session to re-introduce Prop. 187. He will give them 30 days to get it back into the system. If it doesn't go through, he will put it on a ballot and force the legislators to explain to their constituency why they didn't support it.

Thanks. Prop 187 doesn't sound unreasonable. I suppose it gets into morality arguments, but there's no need to break the bank.
