I don't want to steal my partner's thunder, but we have found a significant difference between grade of breast cancer in African Americans vs. European Americans. 55% of African American women in our community with breast cancer have high grade tumors (Elston Score 9) whereas less than 30% of European American women have this. The high grade tumors are usually estrogen receptor negative, grow and spread more rapidly, and are less responsive to treatment, stage for stage. There are documented cases of 2 cm. masses showing up in these high grade tumors often after a normal mammogram only 12 months prior. We are now analyzing tissue samples to look at genetic markers which might explain the difference based upon race.

Am I incorrect in thinking you posted me a link? I've been scrambling to find it, unless I dreamed you posted a link. Please advise?
