but going from actor to Governor is a real stretch

Yeah, we can't have that. Look how that bungler Ronald Reagan messed up the job.

Your comparison is made completely out of ignorance.

Why did you trim your own words out of your response? What are you ashamed of? Here, I'll add them back:

but going from actor to Governor is a real stretch

You just tipped your hand - you actually despise Reagan for presuming to enter politics and taking a job away from career politicians like McClintock who never earned a single dollar that didn't come from a taxpayer's wallet.

The span between Reagan's acting days and his first run into the political arena was -years-, not days.

So what?

Reagan spent all of that time learning the ropes in the political arena so that, by the time he ran for office, he was not some green hack who will be totally beholden to his advisors like your preferred candidate.

Schwarzenegger has almost 900 million dollars in the bank, unlike Mister Four Percent who has to hold bake sales and charity walks to have enough in petty cash to pay the Dominos guy. I don't think Schwarzenegger will be "beholden" to anyone, unlike some who will always be beholden to Cruz Bustamante for their newest talking points or career politicians in desperate need of collagen treatments on their facial features.

So stop comparing the Great Communicator to that chimp already.

You've already proven that you detest and despise "civilians" who don't live off the public teat. And as for "chimp," better a hominid than somebody who needs help removing the treble hooks from his visage when he goes fishing.

I left out my own words for the sake of brevity self-preservation.

There - all corrected.

As I mentioned before, Reagan spent -years- learning the political ropes before entering the arena. Arnold hasn't. In fact, he went straight from promoting Terminator 3 to throwing his hat in the ring. As a consequence, apart from sharing a previous vocation with Reagan, making any claims that Arnold is some sort of latter-day Reagan is bull.

And again I ask; so what? Schwarzenegger has been active in political advocacy for years before announcing for governor. Your guy's had 25 years of practice in various political offices to earn the governorship, and he's a "professional politician." Its really going to gall you and your fellow travellers when Arnold is sworn in and professional politician McClintock has to watch it yet again on TV.

Perhaps not

Thank you. You're learning - slowly, but you're learning.

but his advisors - upon which he is -totally- dependent - have long been sold out to special interests.....and Arnold will be entirely at their disposal as they guide him.

Ah, the man can read Arnold Schwarzenegger's MIND! Tell me - does he think in German? I've always been curious.

Once again, you promote your opinion as fact.

You were the one who called Schwarzenegger a "chimp" in your post. I can only work with the evidence placed in front of me. And, calling somebody a "chimp" is behavior seen more often on DU than FreeRepublic. Its a bit of a shocker when the kimono opens and one of "our own" reveals himself for what he truly is.

Behold the maturity of the Arnold supporter, ladies and gentlemen.

... speaks he who calls political opponents "chimp."

These people want to dictate California's political future.

Schwarzenegger will be dictating California's political future, while McClintock will get another vacation and wonder yet again what it is like to own and operate a company and sign employee's paychecks. For we have the votes, and your guy doesn't.

Welcome to irrelevance.

But it's okay for Arnold supporters to call McClintock supporters things like 'DU plant' and 'Cruz supporters', huh?

I don't believe I've ever called a mcclintock supporter either of those things. In fact, I'm quite sure I haven't.

But I have been called a RINO.
