Tempest,
I agree with everything you say, and say well, except for:

1. Performance in last year's election has nothing to do with this one. I think no one seriously questions the fact that the guy who won last year (Davis) will lose in this one.

2. McClintock is an impractical pipe dream.

I think it depends on which democRAT he's running against. Against Bustamove, a racist extremist who has already announced he wants to increase taxes by $8 billion, Tom can win.

People have said this is not the same California that elected Ronald Reagan. I say this isn't the same California that elected Davis, or there wouldn't have been a recall. (And yes, I live in CA). Californians got their rude awakening to the outcome of the policies of the libs big time, and they don't like it.

Prop 187 passed bigtime in California. Tom says he'll enforce it, Arnold says illegals should be allowed to stay. Who's more in touch with the electorate?

I've heard lots of Arnold supporters say Tom's the best man, but they are voting for someone who can get elected.

If it becomes clear that McClintock CAN beat Bustamove, will they then vote for Tom? We'll see.

BTW. I'm listening to McClintock right now as he guest hosts Roger Hedgecock's radio program (hence the delay in my response, well, that, a ham sammich, Costco green olives, and a good cigar). People who say he has the personality of Bob Dole (no personality, dull, drab blah blah blah) remind me of the people who call Rush a racist. It's clear they've never listened to him.

Slipping into my silver flame-retardant suit, Tom's communication skills and common sense remind me of another great communicator. I hope he can be heard above the "he's unelectable" din being put out by the Arnold camp.

FReegards Tempest!

Hover,

My PRIMARY concern is to make sure that a Republican wins this election. That's it. To that end I see McClintock as a potential spoiler. I hate spoilers, sorry.

Next up, I know that Bustamante is bigger threat than Davis I also know that he's a racist who refuses to renounce his affiliation with insurgent racist organizations like Mecha. I know that you know this too.

The problem is, is that you will be hard pressed to find anyone outside of conservative circles whom is aware of this. The problem is, is that this will continue to be the case all the way up to election day. The problem is, is that the elite media is trying as hard as they might to crucify Arnold while giving Bustamante a pass and hopefully edging a little known McClintock up against Bustamante.

They're playing the same damn game, that they did last time and I'll be damned if I don't see it coming. The more the media tries, the more Bustamante tries, the harder i'll fight to make sure that they don't get away with doing it all over again.
