Thanks for posting this, by the way.
I'm often amazed that when I reflect on my early years, being raised in a guitar and tamborines, folk music liberal Catholic parish, the hymns I remember and love are not the modern junk but the beautiful old Marian hymns, and the ones like these.
Even a child like me, with no musical ability whatsoever, could see the beauty and get attached to those old hymns which were truly rare in our folk masses back then.
Im glad you enjoyed it. There are many that I just cant get on key with. It frustrates me because I like to sing. And I think its because there are some plain old bad songs out there
practically un-singable.
One exception to that is my current favorite
HOW GREAT THOU ART
Oh Lord my God when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed
When Christ shall come
With shout of acclamation
To take me home
What joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim my God how great Thou art
Then sings my soul my savior God to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
Then sings my soul my savior God to Thee
How great Thou art how great Thou art.
P.S. - I wish God's speed to truth, justice and peace for your diocese.
